Good trail. Great workout! Some portions of it better then others. In some places it parallels roads with light to moderate traffic. Plenty of pleasant views. I started at the trail end/head by the First Assembly of God church. There is plenty of parking there. The trails takes you to the IWF Trail head park, from there it turns back North and takes you by Iowa School of Deaf and then heads out towards Iowa Western Community College. Keep left at the college entrance and the trails goes further. I eventually ended up at the trail head by Kmart where the trail splits into Kanesville blvd. and Loess Hills Scenic highway trails. I turned around at the fork and went back to where I started.
As of November 2016 connection to the Wabash trail is under construction. I ignored the detour signs and lived to regret it while walking a good mile on large gravel. It was impossible to ride. Good start would be at the IWF Trail head park.
Great for roller blading!!
This short trail is ADA accessible, has historic significance as it is built on the Mormon Battalion Mustering ground and is identified as such with historic markers. Has a nice wetland and prairie restoration plot. Well worth a brief stop to stretch your legs.
