Great trail with a ton of off-shoot trail options. Paved and in good condition. Not as busy as you’d think for being such a central location!

This is a flat trail of fine gravel. It's well taken care of. The only thing I can think of that would improve it would be to cut more "windows" into the woods/ brush between the trail and lake so that walkers can see more of the beautiful lake.

Nice trail around the lake but there are a lot of mosquitoes.

A very easy and enjoyable trail. Perfect for dogs, running, and date walking. The little lake is pretty and there are patches of some shade, though not a lot so make sure you wear sunscreen. We only encountered bugs when stopping in shaded grass areas. The breeze and openness of the trail kept them away for the most part.

I was only able to do part of the trail today as the real feel was 95 degrees and I had my little one with me. I would suggest sunscreen and bug spray. Parts of the path are in direct sunlight; got sunburnt because I forgot my sunscreen. Dog friendly (leash required). Was able to push a stroller down it, even though it was gravel. Sign said trail is not maintained in winter.

Nice out and back paved trail. We parked at the ball fields out at Racoon River Park. The trail is very well maintained and very scenic. The trial passes right by Bike World of West Des Moines which is very convenient if you needed repairs or anything bike related.

Lovely respite for this weary traveler passing through. So green, fragrant, and so very clean! Birds were in full voice. Lovely dog park as well. Easy, level terrain. Well maintained trail loop

Easy connector trail that goes from Blue Heron to Ashworth Park.

Only walked the paved walk today, still a very nice walk though, almost 2.5 from one end of the park to the next.

easy but very pretty!

Very nice short walking trail. There was a moderate amount of traffic. There was some wildlife and a lake in the middle. We would like to link this with some of the connector trails in the area on bikes.

I love walking this trail. The trail is almost completely shaded. It is easy to get my workout. There are plenty of exits so if the whole loop is too much just take what you want.

nice trail

I walked this trail with my aunt who was fighting pancreatic cancer at the time. It is a nice, easy, and family friendly trail. Check out the PurpleStride walk that is held here every year.

Nice trail! On a recent weekday there was enough traffic that I didn't feel isolated, but not so much that I couldn't enjoy the surroundings.
