I'm not too sure why this trail is considered Moderate. I went with 68 year old father, neither of us are in the best of shape and neither of us had any difficulties. Beautiful walk along the river. Amazing huge trees. We loved it.

Saturday 11/2/19 was fabulous fall day, still lots color and trail hike #4 was great

Great, lot of plants and vegetation. Cooler by the water, lot of bugs and spider webs but it’s summer. Neat spot

Beautiful hike started out moderate but quickly moved into being rugged (lots of stairs). My 34 year old son ran most of it with a 60 pound pack (youth

we combined both Trail 3 and 10, Wonderful trail, they have done a Great job of building up the trails. We had been here last year after a bad rain storm and it was terribly muddy and washed out, Looks Fabulous. Thanks to all who accomplished this!

This was not as scenic a trail as the others in the trail complex. It is a relatively easy walk. Trees are nice. Camel back was not visible with summer plant and leaf growth.

Excellent trails here. However, there is NO mountain biking at Turkey Run State Park. That tag needs to be removed!

Very easy trail, but I like to start on Trail 8 as the other trails get too congested so i start on this trail and take other trails to loop back around. It's usually very quiet and peaceful with nice views of the river during the first portion of the hike.

Easy trail, very hesitant to call this moderate. Perhaps I didn't see some of the more difficult elements because we took this trail to connect to another. Only a few spots required using some rocks for steps, but a fun easy enough trail. For a large element you follow along the river which is nice, and there are several large trees (sadly I think erosion will eventually cause many of these to tumble in the future). You run into a segment that crosses the river with a covered bridge as well. My 4 year old liked it well enough and had no issues. Wanted to do some of the more difficult trails but settled on this one for younger members of the crew.

I love turkey run but this loop really sells the park short. I felt like I missed all of my favorite parts. I will never hike this way again.

Easy trail. Very nice.

lots of stairs and river walking

Enjoyed a break in early March weather so we tried this trail which was mostly along the river. Without leaves on the trees, we had a view of bare branches on both sides. Muddy in some parts, but always manageable. Nice mix of straight path and climbing around/down small rocks. Reaching the covered bridge about halfway.

Beautiful park. I would recommend going during the “off” season. It is very heavily trafficked when the spring and summer hits.

Well-marked easy trail. To get to the Trail 8 trailhead, walk underneath the suspension bridge and a rock formation until you get to some stairs. The trail starts out with some nice views of the river and some staircases. There is an old coal mine with signage. Then the majority of Trail 8 is a flat, wide path through the woods. At the end of the trail loop, you walk along a beautiful creek bed.

I love this trail and so do my dogs. It is my go to Subday walk.

The trail itself was uneventful and the “Camel’s Back” had alright scenery, but if you go a little off trail a little at Camel’s Back you’ll find a great spot to hammock and relax

We set out to do the perimeter 5 mile challenge hike but we ended up doing trails 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 10 and lots of back tracking due to trails being poorly marked This really needs to be addressed. Trail 3 was the most enjoyable and fun with the rock climbing, ravines, etc. I also really enjoyed Gypsy Gulch, suspension bridge and covered bridge. Everything was was just ok. We covered almost 7 miles and it was all pretty easy with only a couple strenuous areas. I’m glad we did it and checked it off the list, it’s worth seeing once but wouldn’t go back and do it again.

These are mostly easy with 2 moderate hikes, very enjoyable. Creek is nearby so definitely will need bug spray to fend off the bugs.

easy walking

Many hiking trails offering great views and beauty all around. The canyons are so much fun to climb in for all ages.

Trail 1 is beautiful and not as busy as the popular trail 3. It’s a nice hike to take 1 to 2 to 4 across the covered bridge.

If you combine all of the trails together, the trails are great. If you're individually picking them apart, three stars for each as they're too short. Tackle them all at once and they offer a five-star experience when done together.
