It says for the very experience but I was able to do so quite well on it and I am about moderately experienced. I loved it. The prettiest I have seen in a long time

Pure awesome is what to expect from this trail. It has a lot to offer. The hills are of adequate size to present some challenge. The trees are beautiful and most of the hike is in the shade. There are several creek crossings but with a little effort you can keep your boots dry. The falls is fun. After ending up there the first day we found it so enjoyable we returned on the second day to cool off in the water. We decided that we would buy water shoes to put in our packs for walking on rocky creek bottoms. Remember to apply bug spray with Deet, pack water, and wear good quality hiking shoes.

My boyfriend and I went the other week and had a blast. Route 3 has the waterfall and has very beautiful scenery! We ended up finding alternative ways to get around obstacles in our way to make it a harder hike. It took us around 2 hours and had a lot of fun.

Beautiful trails and State Park. We did 5, 7, 10 and 3. Walked about 6.5 miles. Not really difficult but the ones down by the creek bed is a bit more challenging. We drove almost 3 hrs and it was worth it. Lots of picnic areas so bring you a lunch and enjoy between hikes. Also has horseback riding, but we spent all of our time hiking so can’t comment on that, but it looked really nice. The Inn also looked very pretty.

Great trail. One suggestion. This trail uses parts of several park trails. You need a good map to follow this trail. I gambled with low battery and was rewarded with several missed turns and about 2 extra miles. One other note the park changes trails for conservation and forestry restoration so you may have to detour. But over all a great experienced with a lot of topography changes.

Decent loop. If you're not afraid of heights, clime the firetower.

Great trail but would be better if it was dryer. The large amount of spring rain made some of the trail unpassable.

Beautiful waterfall and fun scramble down the frozen river. The second half of the hike wasn't as amazing, but still pretty! The start of trail 3 was really confusing, but that may have been due to the snow and ice.

Short hike thru a small part of Indiana's oldest state park. Lightly traveled, for a cold day in December. It was only 12 above. Not much wildlife out at this time of year, however saw a few squirrels and a crow or two.

Starts off with a nice walk on the ridge, it was nice being able to look down to the river, and then heading down.

My golden retriever and I finally completed Trail 7 as our previous efforts had been thwarted by flooding. There is a nice boardwalk in the flood plain close to the river to keep us out of the muck. But to be clear, on this late August day, there wasn't much muck. Nice shady, well marked trail with one small descent down off the bluff and then back up again. A few small trees to climb over but they were tiny. We will definitely be back as parts of the creek here as less traveled which my dog loved.

This trail is actually a combination of trails 3, 5, 7 (and maybe some of 10) on the park map. I enjoyed trail three at the beginning of this hike. Much of it follows the riverbed and it's always fun to clamber over the rocks. Trail five (Wolf cave), is simple but enjoyable and Trail 7 gives some cool views of cliffs but isn't anything spectacular. A good hike, but better ones can be found at Shades State Park.

Despite almost 2 miles along the White River, Trail 7 is the only way to see the river in the park. Starting on Trail 7 along the cliffs of Echo Canyon to the river and then back to the start along the creek bed on Trail 10 is the way to go. Lots of interesting cliff faces to marvel at along Trail 10 while hiking the creek bed.

Great trail along river(trail3). Bug spray is a must. Visit wolf cave (trail 5) but know that you will be crawling and you may want knee protection and a flashlight. FYI they sell minor hats with a light for children at the Inn. We were able to see red headed woodpeckers, yellowtail butterflies, millipedes, newts or salamanders. We did see people swimming in the river. Bring drinking water.

Awesome hike. About lost the trail in the bottom of the canyon but luckily some other hikers helped us find our way. One of my favorite trails!! The canyon was awesome bcs it hadn't been raining much so we could explore the bottom. Went in the peak of fall colors and it was beautiful. Definitely gonna go back!

Great hike! Seemed much longer than 1 mile, but we went in the spring after a lot of rain. The creek was out of it's bed and the trail disappeared in spots. We had to walk along the edge of the creek along the rocks for a while. My 7 year old son really liked it, but he was pretty tired after we finished. There is a full discription of our hike on my website http://kidshikingindiana.weebly.com/ if you are interested.

This was moderate at its hardest points. Great swimming hole! Had three kids (8, 7, & 4) and two German Shepherds with us. Not even a mile long and .8 seems a bit much. Stunning views and serious water fun for the whole family. Small snakes were common so don't be surprised.
