on Jimmy Nash Trail

I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to fit a nice little hike in a city park. There are two parts with a pretty steady climb, lower areas could be muddy or impassable with lots of rain. I think it may have been rerouted, as the HHC (who built the trail) currently lists it as 2 miles. Well-maintained and well-marked. Would have been nice if the trail led more directly to the overlook, or if it was marked. I can see how someone could miss it if they didn't know it was there. Overall, nice to have a wooded trail in a city park.

This trial is really easy to find. There is plenty of parking at the trailhead. There are two separate trailheads. One is on the east side near the parking lot and a small building. The other is on the west side across the green space of the park. The trail itself is clean and well-maintained. The trail is marked easy, though it is on the high end of easy.

if you're considering this trail for a nice peaceful walk this is not the trail for you. You can hear the noises in the park throughout the entire trail. I did not really find anything to take pictures of and wild life is sparse.

The park also has hours of operation so take that into consideration before you start your hike.

Surprisingly engaging hike for a city park. Actually felt myself in the forest in spite of my closeness to the surrounding park and homes.
