Beautiful & just the right length to take my mom on her first hike. Most beautiful after a rainfall so one can see the waterfall in action.

My husband and I stopped at a campsite in Hoosier on the way back from Shawnee and the camp host told us we HAD to hike this while we were in the area. She was right! This was an amazing hike and although the trail is on the shorter side, you can spend hours here checking out the caves, waterfalls, streams and rock formations. Unfortunately the falls were kind of a trickle when we were there, but that made the streams fairly dry which isolated little pools full of life, there were fish, crayfish, salamanders. Absolutely take the little optional loop halfway through which takes you to an awesome cave.

SAFETY WARNING: this trail is located 5 miles from birdseye trail in birdseye. This trail has no mile markers and doesnt lisy the distance at the start either. it is 3 times the distance 11.8 miles. Most importantly this trail is not listed in google maps, whereas birdseye trail in birdseye that is 12 miles long and unmarked IS. I dont know what ridiculous oversight allowed this to happen but any experienced hiker knows this is extremely dangerous to a non experienced hiker. the trail being rated as "easy" , this should certainly be noted. This is a disgrace. I almost died as the sun was going down and there are bobcats in the area and i had no extra water or food beyond the 2 bottles i brought and an apple. Found out i can call 911 on satellite.

Awesome trail! Easy to walk, even a couple waterfalls! will go again!

Excellent day hike. Go after a rain shower for the best experience.

Nice views of the Ohio River!

Amazing time in what feels like a gully from Sleeping Beauty. Great views and some added difficulty if you want to climb the cliffs. Enjoy it!

Love this place. Easy and moderate level trails. Woodland streams, a CCC camp and lake. Overnight camp sites $8 a night.

Pretty but not really a hike. At 1/2 mile and although there is 1 steep climb part don’t see Howe this could rate as moderate. It’s pretty but beware plenty of Ohio river pollution.

Nice short trail. Bring repellent. All the insects including chiggers will have a feast

Enjoyed this trail watching lake activities during a good part of back trail. A bit swampy in some areas during wet season.

Extremely pretty short hike with plenty to experience waterfall dense forests. Caves rock formations. It’s very cool for only a bit over 1 mile

Not a difficult hike. Crosses with dirt roads. Good to be outdoors.

Have been to this secluded jewel of a location in the Hoosier National inumerable times. Whether camping or a daytrip I absolutely reccomend this beautiful unique trail to anyone in the area or afar. The far side of the trail conceals an astounding giant cave formation halfway up the cliffs. Love it.

Loved this hike! It was kid friendly but challenged them on some of the off shoots of the trails to climb rocks and explore. We spent about 2 hours getting lost in all the different areas we could safely climb! Loved the views and waterfalls!

Pretty flooded with all the rain recently, but that’s to be expected. Very fun trail.

This is a beautiful trail and an easy hike. Enjoyed the waterfalls.

50 degree day in January made for a crowd. But this is a beautiful trail and my 4 year old did great!

Easy trail with a couple god climbs and amazing scenery.

Amazing gem that changes with the seasons and weather. I had children from 6-13 and no issues navigating but we do a lot of hiking. A family favorite!

Great trail with two (trickling) waterfalls around 30ft high. Lots to see in such a short trail.

Nice trail. Clean and marked well. Took four kids aged 12, 11, 9, and 6 and everyone had a great time. Beautiful views of the lake.

I have done this hike several times and I think the best time does this hike is in the winter when there are the frozen waterfalls. Either way the hike is scenic but way too short.

The falls are almost dried up at this time, down to a few trickles, still about my favorite trail, love the canyon and all the cliff views!

it was amaze-balls.

definitely one of the best places I've been in indiana!! It's been very dry for months now and there was no water anywhere when I was there.
However that allowed me to get to a lot of places that may not have been easily accessed had it been flowing.

not a hard hike at all, a lot of elevation change but nothing too crazy but you definitely need to be able bodied to do the whole loop.

A gentle trail, mostly packed gravel, but certainly has areas without it. The low hills, winding curves, a few deer and a nice gravel road or two makes for an enjoyable trail run.

Fun trail but was COVERED in all different kinds of ticks. We had to stop every 30 min or so to pick the ticks off. After the trail we went straight to the beach to change into swimsuits. We found another ~15 ticks on our clothing and socks. We had used a deet free bug spray. I would suggest getting something stronger if doing this trail in the summer.

Short scenic hike along a creek that has carved out very cool rock formations and caves. Well maintained trail.

More rugged than moderate, but short enough to be enjoyable. Very cool cliffs, rock formations, a dry creek bed that has waterfalls with more rain, and riverside beach area. There is even a small primitive campground at the trailhead.
