Highly recommended in the Indy area.

Well I had a detailed description of this Trail quite lengthy but it disappeared so here's the short version today is about 78 degrees really nice weather best we've had for weeks humidity is perfect. 48% UV index is 6 the trail was easy with decomposed Granite combination gravel if you had flotation tires on a wheelchair or equivalent it would be very easy to navigate the Trail if you have little kids or dogs watch out for poison ivy that's about the only danger their are shrubs near the trail and trees and large bushes have been cleared there are large boulders to sit on along the way there are two look out decks that are very nice and you can watch the birds, kayakers, boaters or just plain people watch half dozen or so people came and went people taking photographs and some were fishing..

Not sure if it’s an app mistake but the trail in the app near the water takes you off a cliff, there’s a portion where the only way towards the direction of the rail is the road so not sure what happened there. Few other places where the app is off but otherwise, easy trail for lots of birds.

Great starting trail, short and sweet. Great bird watching views!

I can see why most pictures on here are in winter or late Fall. The trail is impassible in summer. Weeds as tall as you are crowding in and over the deer path width trail. I’m not complaining or giving a bad rating - just leaving advice - if you want to hike this in July or August, wear long pants, long sleeves, and being a machete :) this applies to starting about 1 mile into the hike. The first mile is great. After that, bring your bushwhacker. I’ll come back after the forest has withered away for the season - it’ looks like a really good hike then. :)

We are new to hiking and think we picked a great trail for one of our first hikes. Lots of water fowl, a variety of trail types in one trail.

Combination of overgrown, shaded, stairs, and driven-over paths. Can definitely see how it would get muddy, per the other comments. Very good trail for beginners and dogs.

Probably one of the longest loop trails near Indy. It is a great walk in and the woods.

The trail is overgrown once you get to the second part of it. The first part has some great views of the reservoir that are worth seeing though.

Some areas are overgrown. Trail is very very muddy right now (June 2019). Lots of water and thick mud. May be better for hiking this time of year but not for running.

recent heavy rains made some spots marshy not sure how it is when no rain. run counter clockwise for better directions or bring a map from any gate house. upper loop is a little over grown along with west end.

beautiful hike. not too strenuous.

Might be okay for hiking but an absolute mess right now for trail running. Might as well go attempt to run in a swamp.

Trails are an absolute mess right now. Might not be bad for hiking but for trail running they are a swamp land

Trails are an absolute mess right now. Might as well just call them a swamp currently.

Great hike in the Eagle Creek area without the eagle Creek crowd.

This is a nice trail. It was beautiful weather, but it rained the few days before so it was very very muddy. The dog loved it though.

like all the hills, but tree down everywhere and no markers for the trail.

Took my dog on this trail for the first time yesterday. It is a great trail. It definitely makes you work as you go up some descent inclines and have to jump over quite a few down trees. There’s a few areas of water that you have to cross as well. I will definitely be going back!

Longer and harder than I expected. And early April in Indiana = lots of shoe sucking mud.
