This park is close to our house so we frequently hike the trails here. Great for our small kids and the dog. Not difficult trails. Most are easy and a few moderate. Clean park.

It's a nice park except for the fact they charge $7.00 for parking. Would've been cool to know that before driving all the way out here.

Lower bridge was washed out.

An interesting trail that starts off going down a large hill and over a bridge into an old resort abandoned during the Great Depression. There are many artifacts and descriptive signs, making his a different outing.

pretty great trail over all :)
my dog loved it also the trail offered some great back grounds for pictures

Nice winter hike.

Fun trail, esp if you drop by Rose Island :)

This hike is really neat! We actually went across and ventured Rose Island. While doing this trail you might as well go check it out. Really neat and historic. As far as trail 3 goes it is a fun hike with great views.

Nice trail to walk dog.

Good crisp morning hike- I️ carried my backpack just to get back in shape after not going for a couple months! We didn’t hurry but the hills
Give you a good workout!

This trail was a nice walk through the woods nothing too strenuous and beautiful views at the overlook about halfway point. Good for beginners and medium seasoned hikers.

Lovely little hike :)

I brought my eight-year-old daughter and had a lovely hike. The trail was not too difficult but there were a couple of places that were a little bit slippery which is to be expected this time of year. Today is November 4,2017.

Nice short trail. Saw a hedge apple. Big green gorge. Creek was very dry so no water falls, but went early evening and saw two doe deer.

Took this trail this morning. Half way you will come to an overlook of the 14 mile creek that runs off the Ohio River. Nice trail.

A beautiful trail with enough rock formations and waterfalls to keep you wondering what gem you'll find around the next bend. Just watch out for spider webs constructed across entire widths of the trail...learned that one the hard way.

I loved the scenery

Nice short hike I do on the regular. Great view of some waterfalls on the decent. Didn’t like how a lot of the trail was right next to roads even if they were lightly traveled access roads within the state park.

Wonderful of rocks and waterfall. Perfect hike for a beginner.

We took our 5 year old and 2 7 year olds on this hike. They did great. The best part is the waterfall and ravine you get to cross twice. The flatland along the river is dull. Not as many views of the river as I would have expected. Maybe more in the winter.

good hiking trail withe some very nice views.

Nice paved trail until you get to the island. My 6 and 3 year old girls did fine on the steep hill. would like to come back in the fall and experience the eerieness in the dark. lots of history here.

Trail starts on a steep asphalt road used by park vans to provide ADA access to Rose Island. At the bottom of the hill, cross the old Portersville vehicle bridge to hike Trail #7, which is a short, flat loop through the historic Rose Island Amusement Park site. Nice views of Fourteenmile Creek and the Ohio River, plus good interpretive information on Rose Island. Back on Trail #3, trail gets narrow as it heads upstream along Fourteenmile Creek before ascending moderately to close its loop. Overall, when combined with Trail #7, this is probably the best hike at Charlestown State Park.

Nice trail with some good views of the river and a waterfall. We went the day after a decent rain and the trail was very slick in some spots. Best trail in the park, imho.

Prepare for a bit of a steep incline at first then it levels off and descends. We thought is was a very nice casual hike for an experienced hiker. It is $9 out of state and $7 for residence to enter park.

Not a bad little trail, though not the most interesting scenery. Still, it's enjoyable and I will go on it again.

I consider it to be a little harder than trail #2.

Definitely a pleasant trail in an unexpected location. It's pretty for an Indiana trail. It is also just the right length and has just enough scenic variety and difficulty to make it a good trail for when you wish to hike something more than just a short, easy trail.

Shade covers all but a few short sections of the trail, so it should still be pleasant during hot days. As always, bring some water.

While stopping to enjoy the sites and to take some pictures, it took about an hour, though less time should be more than doable.

LOVED IT! Great trail got to explore the creek a bit.
