Trail was in great shape. Not much traffic, which is perfect for us.

love this trail with my great dane

If you get on it at Hesitation point just make sure that you don’t mistake the bike trail that is right next to it. If you do, you’ll find a more moderate trail that is a lot longer.(besides needing to stay away from the bikes) live and learn.

easy, short hike. I actually really like this trail but gave it a 3 due to the noise. it's pretty close to the road most of the time except when you go into a ravine area. there are lots of birds and lots of bugs(got bit by several mosquitoes)

got there at about 9am today. weather was nice and the birds were singing. I would bring some tick spray. lots of flies too, still one of my favorite ncap trails. great for families, pets, or good starter hike

This is an out and back trail starting usually (preferred) from the lake. Very popular trail so expect lots of families and larger groups on nice days. Nature Center at midpoint, before turning back, makes a great restroom stop and opportunity to watch the squirrels no wait I mean bird feeders.

Short easy trail, moderate for a park, just enough for family hikes. Seasoned hikers will likely want to add another trail. I prefer counter clockwise. Will enjoy deep ridges, and a small stream crossing about half way around.

If you have little kids and pets this is your Trail. Just long enough for children to enjoy & parents not lose your mind.

Quick easy trail to keep your hiking feet in shape. BCSP trail 8 is a park so trail is well maintained, easy to follow. One third of trail parallels the road which is nice for less avid hikers. If you want to add another mile or so you can include the loop around Lake Ogle.

Hiked on a Wednesday with my dog and it was a prefect little 3 miler. The lake is beautiful and my dog enjoyed the swim to cool off. Many people around the lake as to be expected but not many on trails.

The trailhead isn't well marked. There are three different trails to choose from. The one to the left of the tower leads 0.5 miles to no where. The actual trailhead is directly behind the tower. If you want more of a challenge, walk or run counter clockwise. There is a small section of steep grade that you will have to traverse quite a few stairs. The path is speckled with many roots which easily catch your feet so beware to runners. The trail is heavily shaded which provided a cool reprieve from the heat of the day.

Enjoyed half the trail as the other half was disappointingly too close to the road for my liking. I prefer a more “remote” feeling. Horse barn smells of manure, no escaping that.

Busy trail for June. Many people fishing and walking dogs. The trail itself was well maintained with many wooden stairs.

Great trail Recommendation: Start from westpoint lookout —> Hesitation Point—> Ogle Lake—> end at westpoint lookout

My kids and I very much enjoyed this trail. We started at Trail 4 and then walked trail 7. It was shaded for most of the hike. There were many spots around the lake where you could picnic or fish. There wasn't too much traffic on a Wednesday.

One of my favorites in brown county. plenty of shade, a little rugged with the incline and decline of hills. nice quiet walk through nature

Nice short trail by the horse barn. Lots of green in June!

Went from pine trail to north loop

Best flow ever. Like being a kid again. Just when you think it’s over starts flowing again

Great trails . If you’ve ridden mtn bike with any frequency and have some endurance there is not a trail out there that you can’t ride. The climb up to hesitation is the most difficult but not long. Aynes great. The knob trail is fun and you don’t have to jump if you don’t want to. Control your speed and wLk some drops / rock sections if not comfortable riding. Haven’t ridden off rode in years but came back quickly. Have fun 23 miles 3:34 ride time

Nice and easy. The stairs are some work if you’re out of shape but isn’t that why we do this?

Rey nice trail down to the lake and back through the nature preserve. The lake is absolutely beautiful. All Trails recorded me at 2.5 miles though, which is a little longer than the app says the trail is.

Nice trail. Shady couple sets of stairs. One will get your heart rate up but other than that it was entertaining. Crossed to trail 7 also nice trip around the lake.

Nice loop around Ogle Lake. Nice views and places to stop to observe nature; look at fish in water, search for frogs, etc.

Good trail. We started at Hesitation point, hiked to the Aynes trail and did about a mile of that counter clockwise before heading back the way we came, for a total of 7.3 miles. I failed to read that this was also a mountain biking trail - not my favorite experience having bikers wiz by at high speeds going downhill but at least we were able to learn that with this hike! Everyone was respectful, though, when we tried our best to get out of their way, and that’s what really matters. Any day is a good day when one can hike in Brown County.
