A great hike with lots of variety and terrific views.

Great hike! Still lots of snow on the trail, knee deep in places, but was able to pack in and camp overnight at the lake.

We had a great hike today! A beautiful, well marked and scenic route! magnificent views!

Perfect for off leash hiking with “Fido!”

May 26, 2018. Too snowy to actually hike. I parked about a mile from the trail head because the snow was too deep to continue on a car. Got to the trail head and did about half a mile of the trail before turning back. Absolutely beautiful but snow up to my knees in many places (I'm 6'2"). You could probably do the hike if you had snow shoes.

Fabulous hike in the snow!!! Saw tons of animal tracks!! Beautiful views. Loved this hike!!!

Moderately strenuous trail with great views the whole way. The hike to the overlook is predominantly shady, and the rest of the hike is a nice balance of sun and shade. We hiked this Sept. 30th, and the trail was clear, although we saw snow patches higher up. We turned this into a loop by hiking up Bald Mountain Trail, then coming down Saddle Up Flow Trail and taking the Roundhouse Connector Trail back to the main trail. This trail also works for running; although parts are rocky, we found it relatively smooth and root-free.

Great trail - missed a turnoff near the crest and ended up at a trailhead a mile north.

beautiful trail with lots of varying scenery. will be back :)

My track below is the Bald Mountain Trail. It is a tough up but worth the effort. Free ride down the mountain. Great lunch at Roundhouse Resturant.

This hike should be rated as easy- not much incline. Was absolutely beautiful especially the part along the river. The trailhead is at the end of a residential neighbourhood

Very nice trail. Close to town

Really nice hike today without 8 year old. Elevation was great. Mix of woods, open spaces, and river trails. Great!

Magnificent view from up top.

Beautiful - not too tough, pretty wildflowers, great views

This was difficult. We ride the gondola up, not really planning a hike. We got to the top to take a look at the beautiful view and decided to walk down. Quite steep at times. Lots of rocks. Good hike tho. Very pretty.

Fairly easy hike, great variety of scenery, wildflowers in the spring, some great views from two rocky points, alongside Wood river. Dogs off leash.

Great hike, I swear it isn't marked correctly, felt longer than 3.5 miles. Nice place to hike to and have a picnic.

Great almost 360 views at a rocky summit. Take some time there! Good trail. Mid October we had mud and snow. Beautiful all the way!

Great little hike- steepest at the end. There is a lot of burned forest before you get there but don't be discouraged. The forest is still B-E-A-U-TIFUL and the little lake is clear and breath taking.

Beautiful short hike

Friday, July 29, 2016

It was a pretty enjoyable trail, but definitely uphill the whole way. Not impossible, but there is a reason it is rated moderate and not easy. The lake was beautiful! Well worth the effort to get there. The area to the trail is pretty burned from a fire a couple years ago (as of July 2016) so it isn't as pretty as it used to be.

I found it easy. There was plenty of shady areas and the creek running through the trail so plenty of water for my dog.

Not sure what trail Sam is talking about. The Cold Springs trail I hike starts at the bottom of the Cold Springs lift. However, just to get to this trailhead u have to hike up a fairly steep road that may actually be the hardest part of the hike. The trail winds around the south side of Seattle Ridge and finally ends at the top of the Broadway ski run. However, u are not yet to the top. Plan this hike carefully as it is not a family friendly hike. It will wear u out. However once u get to the top u get a free ride down on the lift/gondola.

I did this hike as a continuation of 4th of July Lake. It was pretty disappointing. More of a pond than lake in early July.

The only issue is for people not accustomed to altitude. Trail starts at 8787 feet and goes over 9000. My GPS calculated one way of 1.7 miles. The day I hiked there was light snow the night before which really added to the beautiful view of the lake and mountain backdrop. Road to TH is 10.2 miles of mostly 1 lane dirt road.

Nice trail with lots of shade. Taken the short and the long route. Takes you through beautiful meadows where I have seen wild horses, and higher elevation with rocky landscape and wildflowers.

No shade and no creek or water features. (At least on the shady, and and 316 route. Shady lane doesn't have any shade!!)
