The trail was not heavily used the day we were there. We were the only people biking and were confused how to find the trail. When one arrives, there is only a map of the ski trails, which has many loops, circling around as ski loops do. It was extremely rocky, not suitable for a hybrid bike, one even had to walk downhill because of the rocks.

Nice easy hike. Great camps along the lake Still mostly frozen with 2-5 ft of snow around the lake last weekend

Great hike for all skill levels. A bit of an incline at then end, but definitely manageable. Once you get to the lake, go to the left side. There are some rock bed beaches as opposed to super muddy on the right side. Did some fly fishing as well, got a few bites.

Loved it! Beautiful hike, great for the dogs, although we wished it would have been a market trail because the first time we went, we didn't know which trail to go on and ended up 5 miles into the Nez Pierce Wilderness on the wrong trail with no lake to be found. We will be back!

We did this hike yesterday with our 4 dogs, you see 2 other lakes on the way, one you can access, although the water level was down and it was very muddy, at least this August. Coquina was a beautiful lake and larger than we expected. It was a Saturday and we still only saw 2 other groups.

Great trail for backpacking, even if it's your first time. Took my girlfriend for her first backpacking trip along this route, and she loved it. The grade is tolerable throughout the hike, as it follows the river the entire way. You can camp along the river in a few areas with sandy beaches (if you dare). Nothing better than the wild and scenic area along the Selway! You'll likely see kayakers as you hike, as this is area is world renowned for its white water.

my husband and I did this hike with our son for his very first backpacking trip carrying his own gear. Beautiful hike. great scenery. loved looking down over the lakes in the canyon and skirting past another. the only problem is the mosquitos are awerful even with 100% deet. the actually chased us in our tents where we spent most the day. fishing is ok but the fish are definitely used to jump for their food so take a fly fishing pole
