Easy enough trail for young riders, shady too!

Coyotes reported on trail June 2018. Be careful with your dogs. Fish and wildlife think there is a den there with pups. When gown, probably less of a problem.

Beautiful and easy. Bring tick spray!

It’s a nice little hike, not very long but has nice shade spots along the way. Would do it again and s great gateway to the “crest” trails.

I love this trail!!! Beautiful, and challenging!

Crestline is one of my favorite loops, which I recently realized joins with the riparian trail that leads up into the Upper Hull's Gulch area. It's a beautiful hike, just bring plenty of water in the summer and watch out for cyclists!

nice easy hike with great view
some blind spot on cyclist.

Stayed in an Airbnb within walking distance and tried all the trails surrounding us. Loved it!

Not a bad trail but probably best used as a jumping off point for trails that wind deeper into the Boise hills. Easy climb up before users follow a staircase down into the creek bottom. My first visit was in unseasonably warm weather in early February. Not a great time for wildlife but the trail was very scenic, wooded, and gently turned to scrub and long grass along the creek plain. According to the City of Boise, Ridge to Rivers website (Check for Boise hills trail conditions and news), the trail was closed a week prior to prevent erosion during a very wet spell so mine was a lucky run, with which I was able to connect to the Ridge Crest Trail and wind deeper into the trail system. This trail was well used by runners. Although the creek was small, I can see it being a welcome reprieve from the hot ridges in summer. Once again, nice trail to connect from the parking area to other trails in the system.

brutal trail if you go all the way in & out. bring plenty of water. avoid in 95°+ heat.

Good overall hike but not really a great area for birding. Very few varieties and appearances on the day I was there. This trail seems better for mountain biking than hiking and that's mostly what you'll see. It is a good length and relatively pretty if you like desert scenery. There is a very small forested area at the beginning. The challenge level is probably near easy but with a route long enough to deter small children. The inclines are very mild compared to other moderate rated desert trails like Harrison Hollows.

This seemed less scenic and more of a workout trail. It was fine but not as interesting as other trails in the area.

Best trail for dog lovers! The Military Reserve has an off leash dog park and most trails are off leash. Enjoy the wildflowers in April & May!

One of the must do trails in the Boise Foothills, Sidewinder is a nice climb, great view, and a fun downhill. A bit crowded on weekends.
