I was looking for an easy trail to hike with my 10 and 13 y/o. This trail to the falls was perfect for photo opportunities and a pregnant woman like me could still get to the end and back! Lots of people on a gorgeous day, bring swimming gear and even your pooch! Best part, it was only an hour trip from Boise ♡

Some spots are a little more slippery than others due to loose dirt but the place was beautiful. Just remember to take your trash out!!

This place was beautiful!! Didn't see the lower easy trail until we got out and started up the mountain, but down below was so beautiful! The path was easy enough for all my kids, and had lots to explore and discover! We will be going back when we have more daylight to see what we missed!

Easy hike for the most part and the falls at the end are pretty. It was very popular and there were people everywhere. It was difficult to find a spot to stand for a minute to look at the falls. We ended up not staying long. For a quick in and out, it wasn't bad.

My 15month old son and I did this it was easy beautiful most of all he loved it!

I love Jump Creek! the hike to the falls is short but beautiful and shady. The things I would definately look out for is poison oak and snakes. There is rock climbing just up the hill from the falls which is fun! I am a relatively inexperienced rock climber yet I was still able to make it up with out scrapes or falling! Would definitely wear shoes with tread on them so you dont slip. Overall a beautiful canyon, hike and swimming hole!

Defiantly worth the hike in, short to the waterfalls and cool looking

Nice, short run back to a lovely 60 foot waterfall and a cold swim. Great place to photograph!

very easy and short trail that leads to a nice waterfall and decent size pool. I went in January to avoid crowds so I didn't swim! weather was actually perfect for hiking there in Jan. will be back this summer for a swim!

90% of this trail is accessible any vehicle with moderate clearance if you follow the loop counter clockwise from Jump Creek. There is a portion of the road that goes through someone's property but there is a marked detour around it. The other 10% is risky. Jeeps can do it well. Pickups might dig their bumpers into the ground and probably couldn't make some of the turns at the top of the rock.

Had an amazing time hiking with my fiancé here. We did the in and out canyon hike and enjoyed the waterfalls (great for kids) and then afterwards we hiked around the sides and back of the waterfall. Good area for trail running.

Lots of trash and no great places to sit and enjoy the view, which was nice, although crowded out with rowdy obnoxious partiers. Not highly recommended for kids.

really easy out and back to a cool waterfall! *Hopefully the police are still keeping a close eye on this spot as criminal activities have happened here* otherwise a great day trip

Fun trail! Felt like a different world when you walk through the canyon! It’s very short but a fun afternoon activity to drive out there!

Great hike today. EZ in-and-out, and the waterfall was spectacular. Families and dog-friendly. Consider bringing a lunch and eat at the creekside tables.

Definitely recommend this trail, the canton all the way back to the falls is epic, definitely tempting to scale the walls but follow the rules. Will hike it again and go beyond the falls.

Easy for everyone and great fall.

Great short walk to a nice falls

Very pretty!

The permissible hours of the Jump Creek Recreation area are STRICTLY enforced. An Owyhee County Sheriff officer said this is because of criminal and/or dangerous incidents that have occurred here in the past: accidental death, officer impersonation, attempted kidnapping, etc. Pretty scary stuff. The current fine for trespassing off-hours is $156 and I’ve heard the judge rarely dismisses them, regardless of the reason. Several times I’ve seen an Owyhee County Sheriff truck parked above the parking lot waiting to issue tickets to anyone who lingers beyond the closing time. I posted a pic of the hours sign. Although it is large it can be easy to miss on the drive in if you’re not looking for it. That being said, the area is lovely during daylight, although it is popular. A lot of families, groups of teens, and young adults frequent here. Most users leave no trace, but you will likely see some litter. It’s a short, easy hike to the falls/swimming hole. Some sections of the trail are sandy and it’s easy to slip .. watch your footing. The drive to the area is beautiful, particularly in the Spring. The falls are bigger in the Spring as well, however the trail is likely to be wet and therefore slippery so be careful.

Excellent and easy trial with a beautiful waterfall and small pool at the end. Dog and kid friendly. Great for a hot summer day!

What a beautiful hidden gem out in the middle of the barren high desert! I will suggest if you hike the upper trail, that takes off from the upper parking lot, understand that it dead ends at a beautiful vista which offers a photo opportunity and not to the falls. Also wear proper hiking boots as the trail is very narrow and slippery.

I ended up being the first person there at 7:45am on Saturday 6/30/18! Crowd started rolling in around 9. Stunning waterfall. Very cold, but worth the dunk

great trail for families!

Amazing family fun with the kids. There are two trails to follow. The one on the right is steep and takes you to the overlook. Be very careful if you have kids because it is difficult. Take the lower Trail on the left to get to the falls. Only a 0.6 mile hike there and back. Super easy for the kids. If you plan on going in the water I recommend bringing water shoes since the rocks under water can be jagged and sharp.

Easy family hike! My 5 year old and 2 year old walked most of it. The waterfall at the end makes it worth it!

Perfect family hike, picnic, swim. Much to explore! You can even do it in flip flops! Went peak summer August weekend and there were 3 or 4 other families, but it didn't feel overly crowded.
