Hiked this trail back in 2015 before it was on All Trails. It was a great hike in. The trail had just a few challenging spots, but was still fun and full of surprises. Ran into a bear and a group of boy scouts. Too bad it's closed due to the fires that came through.

only giving it a 3 star not due to its beauty as the drive was wonderful but the gate on NF446 was locked up with the sign saying its closed to public from Nov 13-May 31. Will be back and adjust accordingly. I see post from people saying they went just 3 days before this post can be certain its current hike for them or just currently reviewed.

Good hike, great scenery. Its worth driving up to the top of Snowbank Mountain after hiking for the views of Round and Long Valleys.

Very easy on the way down, more strenuous on the way up. Steeper than I originally thought.

I snowshoed in to the hot springs in February. There was a lot of snow, but the trail was packed down hard enough that just boots were enough to walk sturdily. Its an easy, scenic trail with a few pools for soaking that are always less crowded than the nearby Kirkham Hot Springs, which is right off of Highway 21. Definitely worth checking out, especially in the winter.

I hiked this trail in May 2017 and there was still snow in some places. Due to the very snowy winter, the river was running very high and had washed out a portion of the trail. I'm not sure if it has been fixed since, but it is possible to hike up and around it safely. The hot springs on Dash Creek near the end of the trail were also washed over due to high water, but Boiling Springs near the trailhead was accessible. The trailhead shares a parking lot with Boiling Springs Campground, which is accessed by Middle Fork Road, which gets rough in some places. The scenery is very beautiful and the hike is very moderate.

Nice Spot , Becky Z is an Idiot !!!!!!

Great uphill climb. No shade or trees so best to hike morning or on days where it isn’t as hot. There were some beautiful yellow flowers blooming. At the end of the homestead trail, you have the ability to continue uphill or downhill on the lucky peak trail.

This was an absolutely beautiful hike that wasn't long but it was a great workout on the way back up. I went in September so it was sunny but not too hot. Tons of wildflowers, and the end leads you to a large rock overlooking the Blue Lake. You can even jump in from the rock.

Went with my 40 lb 3 year old and six year old easy hike down but moderate to strenuous hike up Thank God I had enough forethought to bring kid carrier because she did not want to walk up it was strenuous.

The Lake is gorgeous and ice cold. I would recommend good sturdy water shoes.

So relaxing to be able soak with a perfect view of the mountains and some snow falling .

Light hike. Springs are nice but not the best I’ve been to in this area.

It would be great when the flowers are still in bloom. Nonetheless, great cardio workout

We were camping at pine flats 10/7/17&10/8/17. The park is walk up only meaning it’s open but not maintained. We double checked with the ranger station and they confirmed it was open, just not maintained (no trash collection, water, toilet paper).

I didn't love the lake and the trail was way too rocky. I also wouldn't rate the trail as easy. It was a steep climb, not long but steep. Kids can do it, I took my 6 year old.

Beautiful trail ends in the lake you can definitely jump in bring a swimsuit you will get to enjoy after the nice hike down. On this trail you do have to hike up in the end so just be ready for that part also because it's says easy but I would say at least moderate to maybe hard.

This hike is great for just a day trip or you can stay longer and explore. The trail to the lake is almost exclusively down hill almost all the way to the lake. There are lots of great spots to swim, fish or just enjoy the lake. Due to the easy access and great views, expect to see other hikers.

Such a beautiful view!!! Really enjoyed the hike. Can't wait to backpack and camp!!!

Super easy hike. We camped there overnight and did some fishing. This is a great spot to come if you want to camp, but are limited on time.

Beautiful and easy trail, but currently closed due to fire damage. NFS says until 12/31/18 minimum. Two bridges were destroyed.

Have been twice this summer, no sign of closure, everything's been clean and in great shape both times

beautiful hike! Beautiful day trip from Boise. Go to the Vandal and BSU store turn left, get to a red barn, turn left, go all the way up until you reach a well traveled parking lot with restroom. That is very where the trail starts, beautiful views, wild flowers and berries. we seen mushrooms, frogs and birds. dinner campers, fishermen and many swimmers even a few frogs! totally worth the hike back up the hill. Will do it again!

A ways out from Cascade. downhill most of the way to the lake so it is tougher on the way back. beautiful drive, short hike and well worth it to see the wildflowers, chipmunks and of course the lake :) will be back!

the trail was great. it has since been burned to the ground and us pretty much unusable at this point.

Steep for first bit, older people will have trouble. Very pretty. Mostly steep and rocky.

it is beautiful. Did not feel crowded at all even with the large number of cars in the parking lot. the wild flowers are in full bloom

easy in , harder out when carrying a 40lb child on your back. very pretty hike

Fun short hike! The road getting to the trailhead isn't bad either. We got up there without issues in a Nissan Versa. It might seem like you're driving forever, but just keep going and the trailhead will be really obvious. It is pretty heavily trafficked this time of year (Mid-July), but the water isn't too cold for swimming.

Love this hike!! I did it as a young girl and remembered loving it. Did it again with our family and it was even better than I remembered! So pretty and my kids LOVED it. They even jumped into the lake from the rocks into the freezing water!

I took this trail last year and also took beaver creek tail-it's absolutely beautiful. Most of it runs along a river/creek. A ton of flowers and wildlife, a lot of shade and plenty of places to stop/rest/eat
