It was the perfect hike this past Saturday. The sun was shining, the Sheep were grazing on the hill side. A few rocky areas but it was great! our dogs loved it too... tho I picked 1 tick off of my Dane later that evening.

This trail kicked my ass last summer. It didn't help that my buddy and I started hiking at 4:30pm, assuming the 95 degree temperature would drop. It didn't. It took us six hours to complete the loop, but I'm very slow up the steep sections. Still, a very scenic foothills trail and a great workout.

Clearly marked trail, low vegetation, full sun (depending on time of day-we went in evening). There is a small stream towards the north west end of the trail. The trail could be a gateway to many other trails.

On the Wednesday night we hiked, we saw 30+ bikers. There were also other hikers and trail runners. Trail is well loved and popular-bonus people are super friendly and respectful!

This is an off leash dog-friendly area, but be prepared to have your dog under control at all times-due to the varied trail usage.

I snowshoed in to the hot springs in February. There was a lot of snow, but the trail was packed down hard enough that just boots were enough to walk sturdily. Its an easy, scenic trail with a few pools for soaking that are always less crowded than the nearby Kirkham Hot Springs, which is right off of Highway 21. Definitely worth checking out, especially in the winter.

I hiked this trail in May 2017 and there was still snow in some places. Due to the very snowy winter, the river was running very high and had washed out a portion of the trail. I'm not sure if it has been fixed since, but it is possible to hike up and around it safely. The hot springs on Dash Creek near the end of the trail were also washed over due to high water, but Boiling Springs near the trailhead was accessible. The trailhead shares a parking lot with Boiling Springs Campground, which is accessed by Middle Fork Road, which gets rough in some places. The scenery is very beautiful and the hike is very moderate.

Beautiful in early spring

Great hike! Lots of other folks with their dogs, mountain bikers, runners, walkers — you name it. I will definitely be doing this again!

This is a nice little hike to take with your kids and dogs but watch out for the occasional bicyclist. Especially around blind spots, they pick up speed and can be a bit scary! Also, depending on the weather the path can become muddy but the views when you get there, are rewarding.

Awesome quick hike for an afternoon. Lots of bikers along the way that were all super friendly. awesome veiw of the Treasure Valley.

Beautiful and easy trail, but currently closed due to fire damage. NFS says until 12/31/18 minimum. Two bridges were destroyed.

the trail was great. it has since been burned to the ground and us pretty much unusable at this point.

Great little loop! Heavily trafficked with mountain bikes and dogs since this is an off leash trail. Nice short and sweet hike close in town.

This place is called Foothills Learning Center.

I took this trail last year and also took beaver creek tail-it's absolutely beautiful. Most of it runs along a river/creek. A ton of flowers and wildlife, a lot of shade and plenty of places to stop/rest/eat

Good visually. Lots of birds but also tons of mountain bikers. Makes bird photography difficult at times. Popular wedding photo area during golden hours.

The trail is an easy hike along the river with places to stop and take a break if traveling with young children.
The trail is currently closed due the fire from last summer.

The trail suffered a lot of damage from the 2016 fire. It's currently closed.

easy trail with a cool bridge and river views!

Good workout. Great views.

Considering this area burned last fall it was a lovely loop. One good view of the Sawtooths, lots of sprouting green out of the ash and a few surviving stands of Aspen and Ponderosa.
It will be amazing again one day.

It looks like this area burned last year but you could already see new growth coming up. Lots of beautiful wildflowers. Unfortunately a few of the guideposts are burned down and we ended up adding 10 miles to our work. Fortunately this provided beautiful views of the distant Sawtooths
