My wife hiked this trail today. She was amazed by the wonderful view. Not a lot of trail markings but if you pay attention you will not get lost. She saw a few hikers. She definitely recommends this trail.

This was a gorgeous forested hike. It was really neat to see Stacked Rock in the distance about a quarter of the way through the hike. I highly recommend this for a day hike near Boise.

Prior to June 1 the trailhead is closed and you will have to add some uphill to your hike from the Shafer Butte gate on Bogus Basin Road up to the trailhead. I went 2 more miles down the road and went in the backway on trail 198 Gorgeous! There is still a little snow, 3rd weekend in May. Wild flowers are just starting to bloom. The granite sand can be very slippery so choose your footwear carefully. I saw a Toyota Prius and a Honda Accord on the road. I took my Ford Taurus, and I made it in and out, but I DO NOT recommend it! I fear she shall never be the same.

These trails are a great way to familiarize yourself with Bogus Basin, whether you're planning on returning for more hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or skiing. The views are awesome, there are wildflowers along the entire route, the ascents and descents aren't too steep, and the air is fresh. I will be hiking this trail several times once Bogus opens for summer activity.

This is a very scenic drive around Bogus Basin to the Mores Mountain trailhead.

Nice shady trail at Bogus Basin with some obstacles and jumps for mountain bikers going downhill.

Nice trail, follows the winter cat track down from the top of Shafer Butte. Great views from the top.

Nice trail that climbs up towards the top of Shafer Butte. Combine it with Cabin Traverse, Tempest, and Sunshine for a nice loop around Bogus.

good walk but due to a bug infestation many of the trail side trees were removed. otherwise very peaceful walk, even with my two toddlers.

I feel like this hike gets hyped a lot, but it was underwhelming to me. Fun, but nothing special. Stack Rock itself is cool.

snowshoeing

My first time snowshoeing was on this trail and it was great. I would recommend for others looking to try snowshoeing.

Great trail. The lupine on the northeast face were absolutely amazing when I hiked it in July 2017.

Went on Sunday and the trail is very nice with lots of shade. Go in the morning to beat the heat.

Snowshoed this yesterday. Loved it.

Was unable to access the trail in mid March. Not a year round trail for on foot. You can rent snow shoes or do cross country skiing but the trail is unmaintained for winter climates.

I went on a warm day in October. I only saw 2 other people for the whole hike, which was pretty easy, but also a good workout on the uphill parts! Amazing views, pine trees and fall colors. My dog loved it!

Trail was packed snow and ice. Fairly difficult without micro spikes and poles! But made it to Stack...

We had to pave our own way on snowshoes for the entire second half on the way up, so hopefully they help future snowshoers! Definitely a great workout, and some views worth seeing.

Great hike in summer and fall.

Nice hike in the woods with good views.

Easy, wide trail, some hills, but overall a “moderate” trail. Disappointed to see so much logging in one stretch, but overall a really nice walk. There are more trails in the area that AllTrails hasn’t mapped - but fairly well marked to find your way.

Beautiful hike up to Stack Rock! There were a few up hill sections but was a pretty easy hike.

View was wonderful. Did this July 2017. It starts downhill from the parking lot turnout. after .5mi it merges on a gravel road that leads to a shaded trail all the way to the stack rock.

September-October is a great time to hit this trail. The leaves are changing and the colors are insane!
