The view is great. It’s indeed muddy and slippery. Trekking poles are highly recommended if you want to save your knees and ankles for the future. We both ware hiking sandals with good soles (Keen’s), and I’m glad that I didn’t bring my heavy leather boots because it’s no need. It’s not a hard hike and it’s very manageable. We did it in late December and the trail is completely shaded, which was great.
