Nice hike - would not considerate this moderate - more like easy. 9 year son did this with no issue. View from the top is nice. Busy trails on a Sunday morning but not overcrowded.

Easy hike with a beautiful view.

No dogs allowed!

A shaded, easy hike on a clear and maintained trail. Nice views from the top.

Really peaceful and safe!
I did the full hike and wouldn’t call it “moderate”...I’m used to hiking and this trail kicked my butt. I also had quite a few slips (and one big fall) on the crumbling rock and saw other hikers struggling to keep their footing too. I can’t imagine kiddos being able to do it, but maybe if you take your time ;)
Overall, a good, challenging hike—but a little dangerous when it gets steep.

We walked the loop with a break at the seats. It was 4.3 miles and definitely moderate. We enjoyed ourselves and saw people from toddler to elderly on the trail. Though would be nice if slower moving people would slide over so you can keep your pace but not a biggie.

No dogs are allowed (Pooh!) which is why I gave it a 3, but even without my sweet dog, it was nice. I believe there are only 2 trails on the south end of the lake that do allow dogs. With the popularity of this spot I can understand why no dogs but this area in general is just not dog friendly.

Great trail

Fun and easy hike. Well-marked. Great view. Lots of parking.

Clean, Quite, Loose Rock

Easy hike to the overlook. Be mindful of people climbing below you. There are about 10 routes the climbing is easy but people throw rocks over the edge all the time.

This was a nice walk in the woods. Well-maintained and marked, not too crowded, plenty of parking at the start of the loop. My only reservation in not giving 5 stars is that the loose rocks can be quite annoying after a while.

Not a good sunrise hike, as advertised. The place is also overrun with high school kids on a Saturday morning. Views are good for Cumming, GA, but doesn’t compare to Yonah, etc.

Great hike! Definitely need hiking boots as there was a ton of rocks, roots, etc. But, that’s why we are outside, right? There wasn’t much traffic on the trail. Felt safe as a solo female hiker, but of course i was prepared! The last .5 of the Mountainside Trail will get ya...uphill. Get your head around it. Great workout! Will be back.

Loved this trail. Good workout and quiet in the early morning. Be careful of loose rocks on the trail. Wear appropriate footwear. Lots of fire ants so don't plan to stop for a trail snack.

Love this hike. The view is spectacular and the hazy mountain tops are a treat to the eyes!

Great trails for families. One of my favorite ones.

Wonderful trail with a great view. Felt safe the entire time. Only saw a few people. Just make sure you follow the signs carefully or you might end up in a different parking lot.

Fantastic easy hike. Doing the whole loop gives a decent workout. Shaded. Beautiful view at the observation deck, as well as boulders to climb around.

great easy trail for kids :) we had out of town guests and this was a perfect trail to fit everyone's skill level.

Great family hike! Amazing view from the top.

Great trail with both a 3 and 5 mike loop. Lots of canopy to protect you from the sun / heat of the day.

A decent hike that has a gradual increase in elevation. We are late 30's and early 40's. Wear your hiking boots as the rocks are plenty and so are the tree roots. You would be fine in sneakers but boots will really protect your ankles if you step wrong and your toes when you hit a root or rock. There were people of all ages on the trail from 2 years old to 75. We did the Indian Seats Trail and on the way down took the Yucca portion which connects to the Indian Seats. All told we did 4.3 miles in just about 2 hours at a steady pace and a 15 minute stop at the top. We did this hike on June 23rd at 9:00 AM. There was plenty of tree cover from the sun the entire way and a very nice breeze at the top. I would suggest doing this as soon as the park opens in the summer time because it will get quite hot. Great start to the day.

Fun going either direction

well maintained and not too crowded if you go at the right time. Beautiful overlook

I saw several cool deer hanging out.

Nice little North Atlanta hike. The trail is well-maintained and the views are great from the top. Indian Seats are cool. Not too crowded but we started early.

An awesome trail just minutes outside of Cumming.
