Well-marked trail with colored posts and trees (red). I mostly used this trail to link up to the Yellow Jacket Equestrian Trail (I asked at the front desk and you are indeed allowed to run on the horse trails). Yellow Jacket had a lot of soft sand spots which was a nice little challenge. If you want a nice easy run, I don't recommend using Yellow Jacket. You can also use East River to get to River Equestrian Trail, but I didn't go that route. If you're looking to get a nice 5+ mile run in, I recommend grabbing a trail map at the front desk (building before paying to enter park) because you'll have to link multiple trails together. I got a nice 8-miler in with East River Swamp, Yellow Jacket, West River Swamp, and Gopher Loop. Watch your step if you're prone to ankle sprains...lots of roots and sporadic sand spots.

Easy hike with views of several different Georgia ecosystems. The trail starts with a boardwalk through the wetlands and ends with a stroll under magnolia trees.

Excellent but short lowland Georgia trail. The park does periodic controlled burnings in this area to control the conifers and help the long leaf pines, and the burnt-out trucks give this trail a unique vibe. Spotted lots of lizard species!

Easy trail with view of the lake and farm. Great for kids! Must pay a $5 parking fee, but that gives you access to all of the trails in the park.

Me and my wife just started hiking and this was our first trail. It was a nice first hike. We hope to make our way through as many of the flatter trails in Georgia State parks as we can then move into higher elevations.

My husband and I brought our 3 boys with ages ranging from 4-10. It was our very first hike and we just loved it. There were so many hidden gems, you just have to look!

This is a really cool and unique trail. It start with a long boardwalk over the swampy cypress tree grove. It’s well marked and can be combined with others to make it longer.
