Just back from the lower trail of green mountain. Easy walk up to the end of the trail where you can see blue ridge lake. Beautiful . It’s Friday and passed by 3 persons. Ideal with my dog. Also close to downtown blue ridge for food and drink when done.

Nice trail, well maintained. Either way you loop is nice. A trail for a stroll, not very difficult.

Small hike but really nice!!

Breathtakingly beautiful. There’s even stairs!

If you hike the whole loop its a really decent hilly hike. Its not a very scenic or pretty hike but its good for exercise. I tracked 5 miles on the fitbit. I hiked it counterclockwise so the waterfall was at the tail end. Be prepared to have wet socks and shoes tho... there are 2 shin/knee deep creek crossings with no logs or stones to step on. The waterfall is quite pretty and easily accessed.

Enjoyable short trail. Beautiful area

Great time of year to see the forest. We took the loop to the right at the fork and would recommend it this way. There is a nice lunch spot when you cross Flatt creek.

This is the perfect time of year to enjoy this hike. You can see through the forest of naked trees and soak in the true contour of the mountain ravines, ridges and rises. We took the lollipop loop to the right and would recommend that direction. There are quite a few creek and stream crossings that make lovely spots for lunch or just to sit, reflect and inhale. After the hike we kept driving down towards the Toccoa River and enjoyed a refreshing brew and apps at Toccoa Riverside. A day well lived.

Great with kids!

A nice morning hike for the first day of spring!!! A couple other hikers are out this morning as well. Squirrels and chipmunks are all along the trail. In and out by noon. Great trail for a quick day hike!!

Daughter was in a leg cast just in time for vacation so I needed some trails that were paved or easy to maneuver with our jogging stroller. This did the trick. We were able to hike along the river while the rest of our party did the stairs to the bottom of the gorge.

This is a fairly challenging trail run as most of the trail has exposed rock, scree, roots, and other debris. The trail is maintained by a local Pinhoti Trail organization and they do an excellent job removing downed trees and keeping the trail well marked with the unique Pinhoti blaze.
Mostly single track with some short FS roads at Dug Mountain and Stover Creek.
Expect some climbing, mostly short rollers with a few that are steeper/longish.
There's limited water sources and access for water drops but it is achievable with some research and planning.
Overall, this is a great trail for running/training and/or casual hiking.

Dog friendly hike as long as you arrive early in the morning. Anything after 11 AM you’re going to start running into other folks arriving on the trail. I recommend going counterclockwise -that way you end up with water at the end of the trail. This only matters if you have dogs and wish them to have the ability to to cool down.
There is enough of an incline so that you’ll feel like you got a work out. 3rd or 4th time I have hiked and generally has quite a bit of solitude.

Nice trail. I went during the rain this weekend and covered 2 loops. I ran clockwise and counter clockwise. The trail did not disappoint. I sprained my ankle a bit on a rock but was able to finish the run. I was able to kind of ice it in the flat creek creek by the bridge. I will be out of commission for a few days but I should be fine. The trail was very runnable even in the rain. Expect a lot of standing water if you do it in the rain.

This is a great walk. Decent views in the winter that would not be visible with leaves on the trees. Had a great time!

How did we end up on this trail? Well, Chores came first and then we were in need of long hike after that we could get in before the sun went down, plus the name of the trail sounded great. :) Once we had the gps directions we knew we had been there before, or at least we thought we had until the GPS took us on the road past it. FYI follow the brown road sign clearly marked for this trail and not the GPS. The trail head is a different story, it is not marked. Trust the check in point & if you have a mountain bike enjoy the ride & if your hiking enjoy that too. We travelled clockwise and once we got to the water the trail was quite beautiful. The giant Hemlocks were impressively tall. Just a little after half way as we came out to the dirt road, I realized that we had been on part of that trail before enjoying the refreshing waterfall. Today was definitely not the day for that, so we continued up the dirt road and reentered the trail where it is actually marked.. :) and enjoyed the rest of our switchbacks and uphill climb. Not sure if this is a busy trail once it becomes warm, but today we had the entire trail to ourselves.

Nice little loop in the Aska area. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the old chimney and wall just off the trail. Fun to explore!

Beautiful trail. However, I disagree with earlier suggestion that taking the right trail might be slightly easier. My husband and I both agreed that taking the counterclockwise (right) route resulted in a much steeper gradient at the end of the hike regardless, great hike and our pup loved it , too.

Very well kept trails! Perfect for a nice afternoon hike! Very dog friendly!

Easy hike. Minor trail construction. Very muddy in a few sections. Slight trail rerouting which added a few extra hiking yards

Great trail for a fall hike. Moderate inclines, streams, very scenic. A few bikers, take the right fork for a slightly easier trek.

Good easy/moderate hike to just be outside. Trail was in decent shape but no views. No indication in description that we would have to cross a creek. Found a tree that had fallen across upstream & climbed over that way.

Great easy trail. Connects to Green Mtn trail easily but you would have to park cars at both trailheads.
