Beautiful trail but unfortunately it does not loop around so you have to circle back on the same path. Very shaded so be aware some areas may be muddy/buggy. Great for an hour of exercise in greenery!

Nice trail in the city. Easy but with lots to see, especially the bamboo grove. Watch out for snakes.

Nice enough for an in-city, paved trail. Connects to West Palisades which makes it much more difficult and interesting.

While hiking here, someone busted out my car window. Upon discussing with friends, it turns out another friend had a window busted out here a couple of weeks ago, and another had her car keyed. Will not be back. Seems to be a hotspot for criminal activity.

the best in atlanta for keeping dogs and you cool due to the dog beach

Certain trails can be very hilly, so wear closed toed shoes. (A lot of people were wearing sandals as they walked towards the river, but not knowing they still have to use a trail.)

It’s pretty cool and the best part is getting to the trail that runs parallel to the river. However, be careful bc the park hasn’t really cleared the trails so you might have to hop over or under a few logs. But the views were worth it!

Very nice park with a great deal of foliage to protect from sun and rain. Having said that, I was a little disappointed because of a lack of signage and also because every "path" was muddy and flooded. This won't stop me from coming back but it made the trail quick slippery and might be an issue for older or less skilled hikers. Pretty views once you get to the river.

I love this trail. scramble across the huge rocks along the side of the creek.. I never finished the loop. would just go to the end of creek where it turns into private property then turn around. I'm not sure if I was using the actual trail at points. it may go up further on the hill at spots but I just stayed next to the water and climbed across the rocks. the ruins at the start of the trail are really cool as well. there are ruins that follow the creek too! civil war era hydroelectric paper mill from what I remember .. it's a 5star for the nearby area... obviously doesn't compare to some North Georgia trails lol

A good run as long as you stay on the main trail; if you head toward the river too much, the trail gets rough and you find yourself going up and down muddy banks and crossing water on logs. The trail is well marked and, on the way back, I saw where I made the wrong turn. All in all a fun run, and I’ll do it again.

2nd time I've been, and this time I learned that Sope Creek Trail connects to Cochran Shoals Trail, and when they switch over there are separate maps on the trail. Both maps look very similar so you need to make sure you know which one you are on.
We walked an extra 3 miles going to the wrong parking lot.
I was still a great hike, but it's a good thing we weren't in a rush to get out.

One of my favorite trails in the Atlanta area. On the easier side of moderate, but a great workout nonetheless. Wide paths, nicely shaded, and dog friendly.

Not the most strenuous trail if you stick to the set route. Going off-path is a better workout. Quit trail with wildlife and a nice view of the river.

Very nice hike, there are too many unleashed dogs there. I almost stepped on a 5' snake. I would have given it 5 stars but the unleashed dogs and lack of parking have it a four star rating.

It was a nice trail. I started at marker 13, got to the lookout tower and decided I wanted to go all the way to the river. If you hike the entire thing like I did-make sure you have plenty of water. Also, yellowjackets during spring are everywhere here and they kinda linger around the maps-so be careful!!

Beautiful trail with plenty of river access and lots of wildlife. We hiked right into a deer who was eating and watched her for awhile. We also saw a blue heron and a hawk! It’s a very easy skill level, just make sure you follow the map to stay on this trail. There are a few other trails toward the beginning that lead up into local neighborhoods and will add a significant amount of mileage and difficulty to your hike. We followed the trail all the way down to the local fish hatchery. If you go down into the hatchery there is also a short nature trail there.

This is a beautiful trail for spring, lots of wildflowers and the woods are so dense and green! Most of the trail is close enough to hear the river, so it’s very peaceful, and there are plenty of side paths that go directly to the edge for nice views. If you hike with dogs, note that they are only allowed on Bowman’s Island Trail, which is managed by the National Parks and costs $5 to access. If you want to visit the base of Buford Dam, that area is right down the same road but managed by the Army Corps, so pets aren’t allowed there.

Easy trail. Pretty views in the beginning but not too much to see after that. Well marked. Keep an eye out for dog poop though.
Overall nice stroll!

This is an easy, well shaded trail with decent signage and lots of options to explore. The mill ruins by the creek are definitely worth seeing! Very pretty for an in-town hike, but there’s a good bit of noise from nearby roads. On the plus side, it was not as crowded as expected for a beautiful Friday in the springtime.

very kid friendly. nice for pets too. Unfortunately the signs aren't very informative.

A plethora of trails some that take you on the banks of the Chattahoochee.

Nice difficulty with several options to take. Tons of dogs and trail runners. Bamboo forest, great views of the river, and beautiful places to take in nature. My husband and I hiked over 5 miles today and had an incredible time.

It says moderate but I would say more on the easy side. Trails well defined and lots of different loops you can create within the park. Great experience and very kid/dog friendly

Great trails on the east side of the Chattahoochee. Nice views of the river and the overlooks are spectacular. Well worth the $5 parking fee. Get there early on the weekend. It fills up fast.

Great trail! Low traffic, friendly hikers and bikers. Very dog-friendly. I only wish the trail was marked better - we did a little unintended off-roading. Great stick selection.

Good placement of checkpoints along trail. Woodsy but not isolated. Nice stroll with hills and flats.

Easy hike with lots of trail options. Dog and kid friendly.
