A good run as long as you stay on the main trail; if you head toward the river too much, the trail gets rough and you find yourself going up and down muddy banks and crossing water on logs. The trail is well marked and, on the way back, I saw where I made the wrong turn. All in all a fun run, and I’ll do it again.

Not the most strenuous trail if you stick to the set route. Going off-path is a better workout. Quit trail with wildlife and a nice view of the river.

Very nice hike, there are too many unleashed dogs there. I almost stepped on a 5' snake. I would have given it 5 stars but the unleashed dogs and lack of parking have it a four star rating.

Great trail for days you want to get outside but take it easy. Beautiful scenery makes you forget that you are in a city.

It was a nice trail. I started at marker 13, got to the lookout tower and decided I wanted to go all the way to the river. If you hike the entire thing like I did-make sure you have plenty of water. Also, yellowjackets during spring are everywhere here and they kinda linger around the maps-so be careful!!

Hard to believe this is in the middle of a city. The path is easy to navigate and has enough elevation changes to keep it fun but not overly strenuous.

Beautiful trail with plenty of river access and lots of wildlife. We hiked right into a deer who was eating and watched her for awhile. We also saw a blue heron and a hawk! It’s a very easy skill level, just make sure you follow the map to stay on this trail. There are a few other trails toward the beginning that lead up into local neighborhoods and will add a significant amount of mileage and difficulty to your hike. We followed the trail all the way down to the local fish hatchery. If you go down into the hatchery there is also a short nature trail there.

This is a beautiful trail for spring, lots of wildflowers and the woods are so dense and green! Most of the trail is close enough to hear the river, so it’s very peaceful, and there are plenty of side paths that go directly to the edge for nice views. If you hike with dogs, note that they are only allowed on Bowman’s Island Trail, which is managed by the National Parks and costs $5 to access. If you want to visit the base of Buford Dam, that area is right down the same road but managed by the Army Corps, so pets aren’t allowed there.

Easy trail. Pretty views in the beginning but not too much to see after that. Well marked. Keep an eye out for dog poop though.
Overall nice stroll!

LOVE this trail - been using it for many years. Great elevation and sight-seeing. You will forget you’re within city limits. Lightly trafficked during the weekday, mornings and afternoons; moderate after work hours and on weekends.

Pretty basic gravel trail with almost no elevation. Open field is pretty and you can see some big planes flying into Dobbins at times. Pretty busy when we went on a Wednesday around 1pm.

You can definitely tailor this trail to your liking with regards to length and intensity. There are several hiking and mountain biking trails off the main gravel path (where this trail starts and ends) where you can play with the intensity of your hike. This connects to the Sope Creek and Cochran trails to the north. I would highly recommend taking the side paths, it’s beautiful through the woods!

Another user commented about the grave site. Sarah Ansley and her sister are the two visible graves. Apparently there are another 3-4 that have since crumbled but which memorialized her husband and their children. The sisters outlived their husbands and lived on the spot until their deaths. Interesting!

A plethora of trails some that take you on the banks of the Chattahoochee.

Nice difficulty with several options to take. Tons of dogs and trail runners. Bamboo forest, great views of the river, and beautiful places to take in nature. My husband and I hiked over 5 miles today and had an incredible time.

saw a baby snapping turtle and enjoyed the trails but nothing over spectacular today. was looking for trails to ride mountain bike on but found nothing really.. but realized there's no MTB riding listed here..

Low traffic. Very peaceful. Nice elevation changes. Quiet. Sounds and views of the river.

Great trails on the east side of the Chattahoochee. Nice views of the river and the overlooks are spectacular. Well worth the $5 parking fee. Get there early on the weekend. It fills up fast.

Loved it.

Awesome!

Easy hike with lots of trail options. Dog and kid friendly.

No one else on trail when I went in late fall. Looked like it was a summer destination with all the swimming holes. Nice hike a little bit of grade change.

For being so close to the city, it still feels fairly remote. The view at Poppy’s point is great (plus a nice rest stop) on your way to the bamboo forest at the end/turnaround.

Nice views and Nice hikes. All the trails are easy. Some go in the woods some go by the river. Take my dog each time and she loves it.

Great trail but is tricky in some spots where the trail looks like it eroded away .

This park is close to my office. I was able to go on a quick 2 mile hike in just under an hour. Most of the trail that I followed was pretty easy except between WP4 & WP5. That’s a killer hill!

A nice paved trail along the Chattahoochee River. Trails is fairly wide to accommodate the number of people on the trail, including mountain bikers. River makes for good scenery. Quite a few people out in the winter time. Fee or pass required for parking. Some signage in need of repair. Restrooms available at each end of trail

Absolutely beautiful trails, I kept commenting on how pretty the view was every few feet! We were also able to let our dog go swimming after at the beach with a bunch of other dogs. We will definitely be going back to try the kayaking!

love that it's right under one of busiest intersections in country...and, rottenwood Creek is nice.
