Some of the Blue trails are a little technical for the beginner, but overall it was a lot of fun. If you can't trek across a wooden bridge, just walk your bike over it or you may fall off like I did. LOL. I did a Black trail too. Very challenging. Have fun and wear mosquito repellent and knee pads. I'd give it another shot.

Trail is ok, but not that great, they’re doing a good job to try to maintain the trails, the bike got stocked sometimes in the sandy areas and not too much shade.

Did mostly novice trails with my girlfriend who'd never been mountain biking before and was great. Truly an amazing trail for experienced and learning bikers. if you need to stop, slow down, take a break, you can totally do so. Just be polite and move to the side for the bikers coming through at a faster pace or so. We did the trail twice and went to the beach after for beer and sandwiches.

Did the nature trail thats closer to the beach first, was beautiful! Loved how they had side trails that led you to little secluded areas to the beach and some places had picnic tables. We then bounced around a few of the bike trails which were very cool even hiking.

As a mountain bike trail, this is excellent, definitely 5 stars. For hiking, it’s really meant for biking so at times it feels redundant walking in loops. There isn’t a lot of shade so I would go as early as possible to avoid the midday heat. I did see a few folks on bikes and I moved to the side to allow them to pass. Everyone biking the trail was really friendly and didn’t mind me there but I was definitely the only hiker. This says 4 miles, I don’t think that’s accurate. I walked the entire loop and even some side paths in 50 minutes. There are some gorgeous views of the water and city that you catch through breaks in the brush. Most importantly, DO NOT forget bug spray.

Great trail system and very well maintained by the VKBC. Love coming out here on the weekends and take in the views by the bay.

Work in progress.....VK used to be so much fun but unfortunately after the hurricane the trail was wiped out!!! Volunteers are doing a great job recovering and adding more trails. We still visit whenever we can.

I’ve been trail running every Saturday morning at VK for past 8 years; just love having this playground in my own backyard!

Beautiful sunrise! But I think the trails need more signage.

Rode Va Key this past weekend. Despite the damage from Irma, mt bike portion of the park looked pretty good. The volunteers who do trail maintenance are working hard and it shows.

Mountain biking in the different trailheads is great. They have different trails for different kinds of riders. -Green circle is beginner -Blue square is intermediate -Black diamond is advanced. They are currently working on a new trail and it will be considered a double black diamond. This is going to be a very difficult trail. In conclusion I recommend to either go mountain biking, hiking, jogging, paddle boarding, kayaking, or enjoy a family picnic.

Virginia Key is awesome! My dad and I went there for the first time, and did the novice and intermediate trails. They have an unbelievable set up, this is a must-do for locals. Although the trails are relatively shady, I do recommend bringing an energy bar and some water, the heat will wipe you out.

I am in love with these trails. I'm a beginner but quickly becoming better because I'm enjoying riding vk so much I go 2 to 3 times a week. I just started trail running the same trails which are kicking my butt but loving every minute of it. You forget where your at when your there.

Updates: "Wild Thing" (INT) has now been extended! It's got a huge stairs obstacle twice the height of the one inside "War Pigs". Then it connects to the outside tricks area/open field for an even wilder and longer ride! Expect to break a sweat when you hit this for the first time! VK keeps getting better and better! Gonna have to start contributing to the cause! :)
