beautiful park, love the views and an absolute fun running loop!

Beautiful paved trail. Very wide and allows for running with a dog or stroller. Beautiful scenery and a boardwalk to check out after your run. It was slightly busy when I went, but the wide trail allows for plenty of room. It does cost $2 to get in and you may need cash.

Trail around the lake had a fair amount of water. I was not in my trail shoes so chose not to go around but actually a bit remote for me as a single female. I would return with friends.

I come here often, most recently for my company’s picnic. There isn’t very much room to kayak but I love the boardwalk and observation tower. My friend proposed to his girlfriend on one the trails.

I go here with my family quite often. Always full of wildlife and positivity. The tower has a great view of the river too.

Short and sweet. It is a nice evening walk with the kids.

Good short run. Nice trails. Can get 6-7miles with interest by varying route

Love it here ❤️

A must if you’re in Tampa, FL

It was very beautiful, lots of beautiful plants and trees, along with many alligators!!

I bring my baby here to jog every Saturday morning. Always clean and friendly. Very quiet and peaceful at 8 am!

Nice place boardwalk

family friendly fun. very well maintained. took my 6 and 16 year olds on a fathers day hike. both had a great time. saw 3 alligators and a lot of turtles, birds, and squirrels. definitely one of our favorite hikes in this area.

extremely nice trail..

Live near by about 1,5 miles,
The only thing that I hate is that I did not know about this place until after I brought my house in Lutz.
If I id I would had brought a house within a block or two from it.
It is crowed during the weekend, do not go there.
it is nice during the week. usually one or two other cars..
I grew up on a farm, move to the city so I missed the woods
When I need to get away from the family.. I go there with a ice cooler with some sodas and something
to eat and just sit in the woods

Very clean, nice boardwalk with lots of shade. Saw alligators, armadillos & a variety of birds.

Great easy trail with something new to see every day. Many side trails not listed on map that bring you easily back to the main path.

I hike here a lot. Bring the dogs whenever I can (always pick up after them). The park is a Godsend in that it provides a nice chunk of real Florida in the middle of civilization. The only action that regularly needs to be taken, besides of course regular trail clearing, is the cutting back of exotics and ornamentals that continuously creep in from the adjacent homes which abut the preserves north boundary. That section of the trail can often be obstructed, especially in summer, due to weeds/ brush, etc. I’ve never seen deer here, although there’s enough acreage for a few I would think. Lots of active Gopher Tortoise burrows throughout the preserve. Good birding site and the gorgeous lake really highlights this tract. Upland pine and mixed hardwoods are very nice. A nice place to get away to.

We came here for a short hike and wanted to see some wildlife. We were here on a Saturday afternoon in February and it was busy but didn't feel too crowded. It was a nice walk around the lake on a boardwalk and allowed for an interesting point of view. We did see an alligator, lots of birds, turtles, and some fish. We also heard two Barred owls calling to one another.
A nice introduction to Florida's wilder side.

Fun, great place to take pictures.

at first I was unimpressed, but I love it more everytime I go!

Nice park and at least it's open again. Some trails blocked off due to flooding. It doesn't have many miles of paths so only do when I have limited time to hike - gets too boring otherwise to do the same trails 2-3 times in one day.

Been to Lettuce Lake many times. This is our "Go-To" hike for weekend mornings. We always take our camera because the wildlife is different every time. Never know what you will see there.

Lettuce Lake is a nice little stroll conveniently located near USF's campus. As others have mentioned, the main attraction here is not enjoying solitude in nature - the park tends to be very crowded, especially on weekends. We mainly enjoy coming here for the wide variety of wildlife that can easily be observed from the boardwalk: herons, wood storks, roseate spoonbills, egrets, woodpeckers, anhingas, gators, snakes, turtles, and fish are all typical sightings on any given day. Coming early in the morning is a good way to miss some of the crowds.

peaceful suburban hike minutes from the highway- makes a nice quiet walk around a lake. good for dogs and kids.

Easy to go off many paths too choose from glad we had this app. Plenty of nature here to see. If you like birds there are three areas that were crowded with all kinds of birds including woodpeckers of different varieties. We also happened upon a red tail hawk who allowed us to take pictures and videos before flying away. We would definitely come back here again someday.

Nice easy walk with great wildlife and scenery.

This place is great when there's nobody else there. Lots of men not in exercise clothing hang around the front entrance in their cars seemingly waiting for “something” and checking people out. Very annoying. I’m not the only person to notice this. Read the other reviews.
