Please don’t leave the trail. Got last and spent 5 hours trying to get back yesterday. Also, don’t bike down the horse trail thinking it’s a short cut back. Of the powerline road. Bring water because there isn’t much available and aft 4 hours you’ll be thirsty.

A fun hike if you are okay with getting a little lost. The trail is not well marked, and is overgrown in many places. I still enjoyed it and will come back to explore. Very beautiful and wild feeling.

Not well marked!!! I ended up lost for an hour on old trails that have not been walked for a long time, I had to take out my phone to see where I was at, the map at the entrance does not guide well. I would not recommend this trail to anyone.

Beautiful rolling trail, a fair amount of roots, well maintained and well marked. A good workout. Bring plenty of water.

Not a bad trail. My 3 year old and I did it in about 30 mins. I had to carry her around some mud and water and the trail up to the river was way to wet to walk. Bugs are as expected in Florida in August. I love this park in general so it didn’t bother me too much. First walk in the woods with my daughter and it went well considering the wetness. Will absolutely do it again with her.

This loop uses a bypass that is essentially a "double track" road that isn't maintained as well as the main hiking loop. It was a bit overgrown. However, it still made for a nice workout. The main loop features a wide, sandy trail that gets a bit sugary in some spots. The scenery is unremarkable. There are rest stops at certain places with benches and covered benches to get out of the heat. Take plenty of water. The lakes on the maps are nothing more than swamps; nothing notable. There is one lake that requires you to beat some brush to get to located on the south side of the trail. This is the only one of substance. Watch for rattlers though. Overall, nothing special, but a good way to just get outside and enjoy nature.

Very nice little loop. Not much of a lake to see, but the trial is shaded in spots, is nice and wide, and was an enjoyable little jaunt. Nice little warm up or leg stretcher if you’ve been cooped up in a house.

markings are fairly good, but it's possible to hike past the Primitive Campsite #1 and #2. There are some loops that can alternatively get you to your various destinations, but tricky

Great trail; a little long at some points because you can see where you’re going and it’s so far away. No water along the way so plan accordingly. Bring water. You walk in sand a lot so it adds to it a little bit more. Take a picture at the kiosk of the trail map before hand it helps, no maps out there if your phone dies. Primitive camping sites are a hike so pack light. There’s not much to them, primitive camping. Also horse flys. Fight thru them; they are the worst at the sand part. Look for the MS on the hiking marker TH 23.

There is parking in the deep part of the park for biking that is a bit confusing if you didn’t use directions directly from this app. Overall great trail very serene and calming once you are on trail. Water is on trails and overall great for beginners or serious riders

we've been hiking this trail for ten years. Always a good hike.

Bugs weren’t bad at all yesterday but the day before were pretty bad. They are widening the trail in several locations. All flat , some water crossings, more when rainy season comes.

Not much shade and not much scenery change along the way. Top half of the trail does not match map on this app. Markings need improvement, uses orange blazes. Lots of side trails to shorten route and nice bike path along the way. remains of old Florida homestead on site.

Nice open trail. Mostly sunny. This 9.7 mile trail is a loop but broken up into smaller loops. Lovely little lake trail near the beginning. Don’t miss that. Heard but didn’t see an alligator there. Very sandy most of the way. Had to stop and take sand out of my sneakers. Next time hiking boots. You can park at the corral and be at the head of the trail. There is an old homestead site that is well marked here. Interesting find. I did the 1.9 mile loop today. Just as I was getting in the car I heard wild turkeys!

Nice walk, interesting homestead remains. birds, turtles, etc

First trail I've hiked at Starkey Park. Nothing particularly special. Lots of stretches of mud and ankle deep water to trudge through. Highlight was the litte boardwalk but overall not one that I would go back to.

One of my favorite rides. Paved with beautiful scenery. At the end you can continue onto the Sun Coast trail. Park attendants are pretty quick to clear debris after a storm.

Hiked to camp site 3. Well marked but map does not explain blazes

We've had a wet winter here, so this trail was the muddiest I've ever seen it. Enjoyable anyway.
