Grayton Beach consistently ranks among the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the United States. The beach provides an idyllic setting for swimming, sunbathing and surf fishing and is the backdrop for golden sunrises and silver moonlit evenings. The nearly 2,000-acre park features a boat ramp that provides access to the lake's brackish waters for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Visitors can paddle a canoe or kayak on scenic Western Lake to get a closer look at a salt marsh ecosystem. A nature trail winds through a coastal forest where scrub oaks and magnolias stand, bent and twisted by the salt winds. Hikers and bicyclists can enjoy more than four miles of trails throughout the pine flatwoods. Options for overnight stays include modern cabins and a full-facility campground.

Each year, my siblings celebrate their birthdays along the Emerald Coast, and the celebration includes a bike ride along 30A. This trail is perfect as we age. We did 21 miles, and the oldest bicyclist is in his mid sixties! An easy, accessible trail!!

This trail is an easy walk. Dogs and bikes are allowed. We saw quite a few people in the trail. Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of time so only went about 1 mile in and then turned back.

Went on a 2.5 hour hike at Grayton Beach State Park. Jan is a great time to hike this trail system. Temps in the high 50's, cool breezes and no bugs. Our dogs enjoyed the forest and we only saw 4 other people on the trail.

Breathtaking scenery and private walk. I went early in the am and had the trails to myself. Plan for sand and pine needle trails and some water.

We actually did beach bikes on this trail. It really is a wide sidewalk like one other review mentioned, but it’s great! Excellent views, and then just done normal sidewalk scenery too. This is great for a bike ride and stopping to go to eat or hoot the beach as part of a full day.

very nice, cute little trail. if you have a family with kids, it's a nice outing. beautiful area and nice biking trails nearby. I wouldn't recommend bike's on this trail however. does cost $5 to get in state park.

Some beautiful views immersed in nature. Clear path except for occasional flooding that is difficult to pass without getting wet. I encountered several spiderwebs with large spiders across the path. Nearly walking into these guys gave me quite a shock. Descriptive signs about the local flora and fauna were a nice treat.

Gentle trail accessible to even the youngest children. Variety of environments in a short walk: small tree area, dunes, lake, and big pine area all with the sounds of the ocean in the distance. Watch out for mosquitoes and poison ivy.

This was fun on a bike even though the trails were a bit sandy!

Super nice trail. Very well marked. At least 1/2 is single track. We did the trail plus the lake loop depicted here and then headed east and exited on the 395. Pretty flat trails but some slight up/ down. A lot of sand! (Fat tires could be a benefit). Hint: watercolor off 395 has some nice tensed trails and bridges, with good scenery.

Nice trail along the inner marsh with white sand dunes and pine trees. Please stay off the sand dunes and respect the signs that point out the trail. It forms a short loop easily done in 20 minutes. Great for the family. Some shade once you hit the pine trees, and open sun when you're in the dune area. Be sure to wear footwear you don't mind getting sand in!

I just completed this trail about 40 miles roundtrip. It is paved all the way. The scenry along highway 30-A is really awesome. When you ride through those small communiteis like seaside and others.. you will see a lot of traffic on the path of walkers and bikers.. so you will have to take it slow through those places. Also, pay attention to the signs, because in several places you will have to cross the road to pick up the trail.. but they do a very good job of posting mile markers and signs along the way.

Ummmm. This is a sidewalk along a road. Yes beautiful ocean views and manicured neighborhoods. Admittedly I only did 2 miles because.... it is a sidewalk

Great views of the ocean the majority of the way. Well manicured trail. Do the full pull to Panama City Beach if you have a morning to kill.

Great trail

Note: Trailhead has been moved east about 1/4 mile. The new starting point adds about 1.5 miles to the entire loop. My Garmin Vivoactive recorded right at 6.0 miles start to finish. Beautiful trail with minimal elevation.

This is one of my favorite places close to home. It's very peaceful and the views are gorgeous. The rangers are so friendly and helpful. It's a very short trail, but the powdery white sand and palmetto groves are hard to resist! If you enjoy barefoot hikes, you will love this one.

Flatwoods trail is a nice easy hike with beautiful scenery and little incline. The shady, flat trail makes this a nice jaunt for less experienced hikers. They sell water at the park entrance but then its sparse. $2 fee to use this trail.

Very lovely this time of the year. Nice and flat for people who are more interested in a good nature walk than an intense hike, but lots of pretty stuff to see along the way. The lake is gorgeous. Lots of shady places, but definitely don't forget the sunscreen.

Its a flat, wooded forest that isn't really maintained, but gets use from walkers, bikes, horses and vehicles. Still its a nice loop to make close to town and the campground.

Nice easy trail in the state park. Beautiful beach. Interesting trail. Could not finish because a low spot was too muddy and we were not prepared.

Nice trail, but a little confusing as you cross trails a few times and all are blue!

Well maintained, flat, sandy and easy. Saw a few people while hiking, snowbirds with their dogs mostly. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. it's located in Grayton Beach across 30A (on the North side) from the State Park.
