Explore the most popular trails in Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, this windswept park is named for Florida folk singer Gamble Rogers. The beach is the most popular feature at this park, where visitors enjoy swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing or fishing. The daily low tide is an ideal time to observe shore birds feeding in tidal pools; summer months bring sea turtles that lay their eggs in the golden-brown coquina sand. On the Intracoastal Waterway side of the park, picnic pavilions provide a shady place to enjoy a meal. A nature trail winds through a shady coastal forest of scrub oaks and saw palmetto. Boaters and canoeists can launch from a boat ramp on the Intracoastal Waterway. The park's full-facility campground is situated on the dune above the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. A short walk along a boardwalk takes you to the beach. Located in Flagler Beach off Highway A1A.

There's a little more out here than just the route shown but it's all easy. Some of it runs through the campground or along the road, but the part through the woods is pretty good. Quite a few people out fishing too. If you're looking to do a quick hike I don't know if it's worth the $4 or $5 admission fee, but I'd already paid for admission at Washington Oaks earlier in the day (which is worth the price) so my ticket got me in here too.

Short, easy and pleasant walk.

I liked that it was short due to being somewhat handicapped. I really enjoyed reading the informational plaques.

Easy loop trail light canopy provides limited shade but open sections are exposed. Take sun screen. Well marked and an easy trail to follow. A small section with some exposed tree roots which should be traversed with caution. A break from the beach if you are looking for one.
