st.petersburg to tampon springs a great ride. I go gulf North then Pinellas trail back home. great ride, many bikes

I’ve hiked this trail maybe 30 times. It’s close to home and is very easy and short with minimal people. Lots of water views but I have to say that 80% of the time you get swarmed with the WORST bugs I’ve ever encountered hiking in Florida.

I will definitely come back but next time having covered myself in insect repellant. There are a great many sections teaming with deer flies so be prepared. It is a pleasurable hike with benches scattered throughout. Several spots are open to the waterways. It looks to be a great place to fish and bird watch.

This is a great trail for a beginner, very easy to navigate; it's clean, pretty, very enjoable.

Great trail

Really excellent trail for all purposes linking Tarpon Springs to the north to downtown St Pete to the south. I have ridden all sections and the stretch from Clearwater north to Tarpon Springs is definitely the more scenic and has much more of a tree canopy when the sun is hot. Dunedin is particularly nice. The stretch from Largo to St Pete is great for covering the distance but more functional rather than touristy. Also the trail goes through some areas best not to be in when darkness falls. Overall really great paved trail only encountering traffic at crosswalks.

This was a fine area, and we took our dog, but there were way too many bugs near the water. They looked like tiny bees and we're just everywhere. Does anyone know what they are called?

Biked on this trail a lot when I lived in the area. My friends and I would often start at Taylor Park in Largo and go up to the Dunedin causeway and back. One of the nicest bike/hiking trails I've seen.

This is my home trail. I have ridden as much as 60 miles on it one day. It's great for distance training and offers accesses to several local sites of interest like Ft Desoto also listed as a trail site. It is a fully paved trail so any bike can be used but you'll get the most out of with a road bike. Bring lots of water since it's a county trail there are no amenities and it gets up to 93 degrees here. Recent additions have been opened from the Skyway trail link giving access to two more beaches.

I enjoyed this trail. Is large and easy and the Dunedin area is very nice. there is a nice place where you can find natural smoothies and delicious muffins and tasted it while you take a rest. Is a little purple house beside the trail near to Dunedin downtown.

Started at East Tarpon Ave, went south for about 5 miles, turned around & headed back to Toula's Trailside Cafe and had brunch. A great ride, not too hot and overcast. Brunch was fantastic. Will definetly do this again. Also will continue the trail at different way points.

As its name implies, the Pinellas Trails runs north to south through Pinellas County. If you're able to tune out the traffic that is oftentimes audible from the trail, you'll enjoy a nice walk/run/ride down well-maintained paths. There are stop signs where the trail intersects roads and overpasses that keep trail users safe. In the Bay area, car-free (or even mostly car-free) areas for cyclists and pedestrians seeking exercise can be at a premium. That's the Pinellas Trail's best asset: a safe place to run or bike.

Had a great weekend on this trail. Stayed in Dunedin and took the trail south to Clearwater Beach one day then rode back and enjoyed the Dunedin night life. The next morning rode to Tarpon Springs and enjoyed the yummy Greek food.
