The Leon Sinks Geological area has about 5 miles of trails total - the one mapped here is the Sinkhole Trail/Crossover Trail. This trail goes by all the big sinks and has informational signage along the way about how sinks form, Florida's karst geology, etc. The Crossover Trail portion has a fun boardwalk through a swamp, and they've recently redone all the boardwalks and observation decks. There are bathrooms with flush toilets, sinks, and water fountains at the trailhead. There is a small fee for this area (honor system).

This trail is easy, well-marked, and well-maintained. Moderate is overstating this trail's difficulty. Great for families and usually see lots of trail runners.

The main trail is paved and pretty level in an upland pine forest . Make sure you take some of the side trails to do some exploring and experience a little more nature and vigorous biking. I’d rate as easy.

Nice trail. Well marked.

Nice easy beginner trail. Well maintained and paved. Nice picnicking areas at the trail head as well.

great trail well manta gorgeous views

The trail leaves the river . Don't worry you did not miss the trail just follow the blazes and it makes it a little further. it's very scenic and very remove.

This trail is a true North Florida gem! Needs a little maintenance but still a great trail. Did the outer loop (4.5 miles) which started with the Sinks Trail and connected to the Gum Swamp Trail to get the maximum distance.

60 % of trail has been controlled burned.. several times through low lying areas the trail was completely under water. Recent storms have damaged a few of the foot bridges. With a little work and allowing time for the undergrowth to grow back this would be a great trail,

Great moderate trail, few roots and marginal elevation rises. My wife and I love the open pine forest terrain! Definitely our favorite trail, long winding runs in the open forest!

Nice easy trail with just the right changes in terrain and scenery. The Tupelo Swamp was the highlight of hike.

The trail follows the river to a point. Then the trail goes away from the river and seems to leave the route on the map. However, it was easy to turn around and head back to the trail head.
I’ll explore this trail again.

Beautiful hike during the fall and winter months

Nice and fast

Nice trail, very pretty river which is stained dark with tannic acid from the trees. So don’t be afraid to get it, it’s clean, cool, and refreshing.

The trail seems to have recently been remapped so there a lot of different paths that don't show up on the map. Also when driving there you're on dirt/sand roads for about 6 miles. Don't worry you're going the right way.

It was alright when I went back in June. The sinks were a nice blue color and there is a small cave that was pretty neat. Just be prepared for a LOT of bugs during the summertime and the typical Florida heat.

Nice paved path that was very easy to walk and pretty level throughout. I also took one of the atv trails and about half a mile through the forest off trail to get to the Leon sinks loop. Overall that trek was about 10 miles but the bike path is the primary trail.

This was a good trail, but the mosquitoes were terrible yesterday. But, we are in Florida in summer, so bring the bug spray.
