The area which is now Quaddick State Park was once the site of Thompson's town farm where elderly residents of the village spent their reflective years. Prior to that, it had been a fishing area of the Nipmuck Indians. The cool reservoir water and the sandy beach draw frequent crowds during the warm summer months.

Great trail for any level. Snowy but not too muddy today.

We parked in the small lot to the right of the entrance and using the Downloaded DEEP Map for Quaddick State Park, we headed for the red trail. We did this trail clockwise saving the picturesque lake for last. The easy, family friendly, dog friendly trails were well marked. As this is a State Park, there are rest rooms and picnic areas. There is also a public beach that would provide a refreshing dip after a summer hike.
