very nice hiking trail with views of a small pond. saw a few ospreys. many boulders and stepping stones to walk on. a few wooden and stone bridges. a good challenge for keeping the walk fun. awesome landscape a classic new england trail. also some very older oaks estimated around 100+ yrs. and a variety of mushrooms to identify.

This is a meet up spot for men. Not family friendly. Wish it was because it’s a very nice trail. We did it but were very uncomfortable when we returned to the parking lot. I googled around and confirmed what I thought was going on.

This is a deceptively large patch of woods. There are some great trails (on west side) and some rocky ones (south and down the middle). Groton Parks and Rec is looking to decommission some of the poor or unmarked trails to improve the park. Great place for a dog walk or several mile loop hike.

Bugs pretty heavy in swamp and its a swamp but dry right now.Bet its real pretty in the fall. Will come back.

Senic trail and good for hiking. Footing is difficult for running.

Definitely challenging. You have to pay attention to the markers but they’re all blue. Muddy and sometimes you have to go through little streams and the rocks are wet. We had dogs and they had a tough time on the rocks. Might do it again now that we know what to expect. Wouldn’t recommend for someone who doesn’t want to spend a significant amount of time out. We had a member of our party who wanted to get back because it was challenging so we used the app to guide us back. I’d recommend pants due to some paths being overgrown and definitely a tick check at the end and some really good bug spray.

My first trail of this nature in years and years. The southern part of the trail is pretty much undefined. You need to stop frequently and look for the blue-marked trees. More than a few downed trees blocking the ‘path.’ As other hikers, had to use my phone to get back on the path. Would do it again.

Went in November, expected most leaves to be on the ground. Definitely rocky and lots of large roots sticking out. Needed to keep an eye on the ground which was ok because there wasn’t a ton to see. Wasn’t overly challenging, no steep inclines. The hardest part for me was staying on the trail in some locations. Some parts were wide open, others clearly marked, then there were some areas that i got lost (had to follow AllTrails to get back on track). Brought my small dog, who overall enjoyed it, just the parts of the trail that had overgrown or no clear path was the only issue. She loved jumping over the trees that had fallen down. Today it wasn’t super muddy, but could see where that would have been an issue as well. My Apple Watch tracked 3.25 miles for entire trip in about an hour. Overall a success!

Very nice trail. Lower part is clear and easy to walk. Upper half more rocks, roots and mud. Need good shoes. Nice with a walking stick. All marked with blur trail markers

Overall, very nice trail. Moderately challenging but nothing too difficult. Only major drawback right now is that you will be swarmed by mosquitoes and flies the entire time you are hiking so insect repellent is a must!

Great trail near Mystic. Moderately technical with some great views.

Nice short hike through the woods. As said before, the trails are all marked with the same color so off shoots can be a little confusing or just add to the adventure!

Fun. Got caught by sundown and a little lost. I don't recommend it but it was fun.

Nice shaded Woods Trail. Makes a double loop. First part of the loop is well-developed, well used, well marked. Passes by nice lake for viewing. Back part of the loop is overgrown, with lots of rocks, lots of poison oak. Trail is overgrown. Went off the trail on a side Path several times before finding the trail again.

Not impressive easy walk. Not much to see there was. A duck pond

While the trails are clearly marked, they are not color coded.
