Nature trips

Not a bad way to start a day, trail is well defined and pretty wide. Only a couple of elevation changes of note and they are not too hard. Much of goes through a nice woodland setting, and the part by Spring Pond and the stream are particularly nice. Part of the loop as mapped does go along a town road where people drive a bit fast and I could have done without that piece, hence 4 stars and not 5.

Heavily wooded but good. Areas where there were wide paths and others that were up and down, roots and rocks. My teen son and I liked it.

Hiking

This was an ok enough hike. It was beautiful walking through the woods, not as buggy as other trails I have been on recently (but still need bug spray), and my kids enjoyed “looking for bears” along the trail (there was a beware of bears sign at the entrance haha); but I think this is a “one and done” for me. Nothing too special here to warrant another hour drive for a second go.

Hiking

Incredibly buggy first half of the loop, then poor signage and lack of maintenance on the second half. Couple of nice viewpoints on the ridge are nice, but then my wife severely twisted her ankle on the rocky hike down.

HikingOff trail

had to add in bushwhack and rock scramble plus an additional side trail to get the mileage but it was a good time. I am glad I had the app recording because some of the trails don't have any markings on them at all and it's hard to know which direction to go

Gorgeous brook for dogs, I dragged a few big tree branches to make a bridge to the small sandy beach on the other side.

I found this to be just a beautiful trail with a couple modifications. Cutting up a couple extra hills and walking the ridge w a cool breeze. On the upper loop going left and and then taking a cutoff up to cover the whole w whole scenic view.

Would not recommend for kids. Rocky, muddy, and trails are not marked the entire time. Definitely not easy! But perfect for social distancing — barely saw anyone on the trail!

Hiking

Loved this hike. The trails are cover in pine needles and it feels like your in an enchanted forest. The trails are very well marked. The dogs loved it too. We only saw a few people on the trails, so it was pretty quiet. Definitely going back, we missed 2 trails so we want to explore more.

Hiking

Perfect trail to walk with younger children. Great views, some uphills but doable for younger legs, and plenty of space to let others pass

I would say this is rated easy minimal inclines and mostly flat. Good for a casual walk or nature trip. Came across two beautiful deer and a wood pecker!

Walking

What a beautiful trail. In these days for social distancing, this trail is perfect since it is narrow enough not to let too many people pass each other at any time. There is a lake where we can sit awhile enjoying the views. Not many bugs around. Safe for kids. We followed the Orange trail. All markings were clear.

Much harder hike than expected as the trail is described as easy. Would say it is moderate if not on the harder side. Rocky uphill climb for most of the hike. Pretty waterfall...and the red trail has a spectacular view of Simsbury. Worth the climb.

This is probably the first time I’ve followed an AllTrails hiking trail that was 100% accurate. The views were nice at the top of the hill, and the trail through the woods was lovely and clearly marked. The other folks my dog and I encountered also had their dogs on leash, which was nice.

Nice hike and trails all seem maintained. There’s a nice cabin on a pond halfway through which was beautiful. Ran into a good amount of bear and deer tracks but didn’t see any.
