Beautiful, well maintained Trails. Easy to follow. Moderate elevations for a good workout. Nice folks everywhere !

Wonderful and scenic, this was a great walk.

Beautiful hike with variations in scenery from babbling brooks to pine forests to quartz caves! Would be a a nice hike in all seasons as well, great for kids and dogs. Little buggy at times so bring some spray.

Nice walk along river. Will definitely go back.

This was a good trail. Very well marked. Easy to follow. The first part of the white trail wasn't so pretty but by the river was absolutely beautiful. Peaceful and relaxing!

There’s a surprise quartz cave :’) this place when the weather is nice makes me want to stay in ct forever. Tons to see and lots of options for detours off the main trail.

Beautiful and well maintained- even after a harsh winter. Varied terrain and beautiful views. Will definitely hike this trail again.

Nice hike

I took the white/yellow trails to do the loop as depicted. Its a moderate switch backing climb if you start to the left as others have said. Then it switchbacks down to a wooden staircase that leads to a wooden bridge over the Shepaug river. The return walk along the river is flat and offers nice views of the water. I ran out of time and will return to climb to the Pinnacle.

the map at the start of the trail of bee Brook is slightly off when you are trying to reach the quartz mine off the orange circle trail. hard to describe just how to get there but you do have to explore just a bit to find it.

Good trail. Unfortunately the whole trail was ice on 1/2/17. Fortunately, we had crampons for our hiking boots which made the whole trek easy.

really enjoyed the hike. did the bee loop which is the round white trail

Walked the left loop away from the water and was disappointed by the noise of the road for the first half of the loop. However was very pleased by the loop along the water. It was a delight to hear the sounds of the water flowing over the rocks. The trail down was a switchback and gets you eventually down to the water. As you continue you can detour to walk on or across two bridges.

The kids and I really enjoyed this trail. We are looking forward to going back in the spring when everything is green again. Great walk/hike. Took us about an hour (including stopping to look around at times) to do the full loop. We may have been able to do it faster, but we were enjoying looking around and exploring a bit.

Nice little loop. I little less crowded than the horse circle area of step rock.

This is one of my favorite local trails. I stumbled upon it about a decade ago. This was the first time I did it with the idea of keeping a walking pace. As noted in my description of the trail, it is a loop. Taking the left (clockwise) side gives you the pain first -- a relatively moderate and then steep incline followed by a series of switchbacks that bring you down to the Shepaug River. After reaching the river, the trail becomes flat and wide and is suitable for horseback riding. The trail is well-blazed (white circle). On straight sections, blazes appear every 150 feet or so. On curved sections (e.g. when ascending or descending), the blazes are closer.
