Visitors to Day Pond State Park will find the stone foundation reminders of the colonial era when water from the pond powered the nearby sawmill. Now stocked with trout, Day Pond is an attractive area for fishermen.

Short detour due to a bridge out, but it was well flagged. Trail conditions were very icy.

Temperature was 50 degrees following days of sub-freezing temps. Lots of ice on trail with some mud. Cut hike short b/c we hadn't locked the car.

fun trail, but the map on AllTrails has you bushwacking through the woods to get back on the blue path. For LTR reasons, stick to another path without blazes but shown on the map to catch up with the blue trail again. Also currently part of the blue trail is rerouted because a bridge is closed, but they've done an excellent job of marking it.

Better have gps, trail markings very poor...

Hiked the blue trail it was well marked and heavily traveled.. had some nice views.. when I got to day pond I had to walk under the bridge they are working on and got back to blue trail but then ended up on power lines trail was able to use the map on here to get back to trail.. once back in woods enjoyed the hike back

Not the best marked for part of the trail. Gorgeous hike though! Will do again. I would rate as mild ( btw easy and moderate), it’s not flat but it’s not steep.

Nice I trail that is well blazed. Old foundations and walls on the northern end. Definitely take the red/ blue spur trail for the waterfall.

My wife and hiked the north/south loop including the falls Nice well marked trails moderate degree of difficulty as advertised

we did this loop today. there are a few s0teep spots for it being classified as easy. it's well marked. the falls are gorgeous!

We did the loop but not the Salmon river part. ended up 3.2 miles on the blue. Some nice running spots. Some hills. All in all a nice but rocky trail. pretty well marked. Will be back to do the whole 7.3

Not very well marked and the trials were very narrow.

I loved this hike, good distance with a decent amount of elevation without being too strenuous. Stunning scenery. It was mostly undercover so sunscreen was not really required. However, bug spray is a must. A couple of great views, I would definitely do this hike again. The waterfall was pretty!

Nice, well traveled trail, clean and easy to follow. Very steep incline in the beginning which leads me to believe why it is marked moderately hard. A lot of people with dogs off the leash so it would be hard for birding but otherwise a great day hike.

great day out. we took out time and did almost eight miles. nice scenery.

very nice trail. lots of parking at the historic bridge, but no restrooms. the blue trail is extremely well marked. be sure to take the red/blue spur trail to the waterfall. did the entire north and south loop in 4 hours, with a half hour lunch at the pond. north loop is slightly up hill, but not excessive. of the south loop on the way back descends nicely.

Well marked and challenging for easy trail

Great trail. Well marked. There is a connector that will take you additional distance to the Falls and Comstock bridge.

There are some falls that this route is leaving out. Watch out for a sign for them when you see the creek. It’s only .2mi out of the way.

It’s not a very hard hike at all. I cut out some of the loops and the extra long routes and it took maybe 2.5 hours.

Great hike ... definitely make sure you take the side spur trail so you dont miss the beautiful falls! The trails are clearly marked.

I hiked to Day Pond and back, did not complete the loop. was a decent workup on the way to the pond, and an easy trek back. didn't see any waterfalls on that trail. Very busy this time of year!

Nice and easy day hike

very nice. definitely has some steep steady inclines. great work out!

My friend and I hiked it with the snow on the ground which while adding to the difficulty it was very fun. It was not very difficult, just hilly. We got some beautiful shots to!

All around enjoyable and I would love to do this again early summer one day!

There’s literally no markers I thought I was going to die in the woods

I love how it connected to the Day Pond Trail!

Excellent trail, very well maintained. I would say it’s on the low end of moderate difficulty. Definitely longer than 5.4 miles, think it was closer to 7.5 miles.

Nice hike, some rocky areas. Well marked and cleared trail with beautiful waterfall.

Beautiful place to take a long hike
