The first section of the trail is nice, but further in it is quite poorly marked and maintained. Very muddy and water-logged in some areas to the point where the trail was impassable. Marking get more infrequent as you go deeper in as well.

Very enjoyable hike! Would rate easy to moderate. Impressive property. Reasonably well marked; had to be thoughtful about watching for blazes. AllTrails helped whenever we were uncertain.

Nice Hike especially if you are local to Stamford or Greenwich. Trails are not marked well so make sure your phone is charged as you need to use your GPS to find the way out. Some nice brooks and streams. Beautiful fall foliage.

Great run/hike. Trails could be better marked. We found our way out, but needed to double back s few times. Will do it again. P.S. don’t follow our gps trail map! We had to make our own way several times, off trail.

Awesome, hidden gem!
Very few people know of this hike, which is what makes it so amazing! No crowds, great scrambles and amazing view from the top, even better than the Chief. People say you get lost very easily, but I think it's really well marked. First half hour you start in the forest, than you go about 20-30 mins on the logging road, and after that you get another hour and a half in the forest going up.
The trail is considered hard due to the fact that at the beginning there are some parts that force you to use arms and legs, but for the rest is very intermediate. Awesome place! The lake isn't anything great, the view of Howe Coast is the highlight!

From the entrance the initial half mile is neatly paved, it gets very messy when it rains.
Its not a good idea to bring kids or pets to this place.
The trails are not marked properly and it gets confusing at times.
There are small thorny bushes in the trail which gets very annoying.
Mosquitoes all around which is really bad. :(
Its green but just not worth a hike.

This place needs a good grooming and trail maintenance. It’s swampy in parts and overgrown in others. Some paths will steer you right into a dead-end. Each time I come here, I try to find the entire 4+ miles and each time I fail. Recently a man gave me what seemed like pretty good directions and then he ended with, “if you see a gate, don’t go in!” Within 20mins I wound up at said gate with barbed wire and all. When can we get a group here to re-blaze these trails and clean up the storm debris?!

Nice for a walk but poorly market trails so we ended up getting lost.

I like the hiking trails but they are poorly marked and it’s easy to get lost. Some of the trails are also not distinct (covered in brush); I’ve gotten lost here before more than once esp. in the wintertime.

Easy to follow and fun trails. Kids and pup had lots of fun on a beautiful, sunny day in Nov. We especially loved the Children's story boards (no spoiler) along the way, that inspired our children to go for an extra short loop. We did a 4 mile loop trail.

The preserve is poorly marked and all maps need repair. Not a fan...

Few people on a Sunday, Memorial Day weekend. Nice diversity of trails, minimal litter. Great place for trail running with dogs.

It's a pleasant walk in the woods that is mad difficult by poorly marked trails (other than the main trail). Trail intersections are not marked at all.

Definitely not for mountain biking but great for a very light hike.

It is a big trail but personally i think it is more for hiking! There are a lot of rocks and it is hard to pick up speed. Also, it is very big and hard to get lost, so go with a friend.
