Fun trail - serves as a good warm-up hike. A moose came from the marshy area south of the lake and proceeded to go in the lake to eat on 7/11/18.

Great trail around a beautiful lake!! We saw moose, fish, small rodents and all sorts of cute ducks. It’s a quick and relaxing trail that allows you to take some beautiful mountain photos. I highly recommend to pop in for the .6 quick walk. There are also numerous tables to enjoy a nice snack or lunch.

Great introduction to RMNP

Short. Gorgeous. Easily accessible for those walking. Paved but bumpy. Amazing views.

It is a very small lake but a great spot to eat and go to the bathroom. The lake is beautiful with the mountains in the background. It is extremely flat so it would be very doable for all ages. I don’t know if it is worth venturing out to but it is on your way to a lot of other hikes so it is nice to stop there and look around.

Nice scenic stroll. Great views of the surrounding mountains!

Basically, an easy way to find a beautiful view. The TH is right there though so def not a hike. A great place to take photos, and see some wild life in the early morning

I'm shock that this does not have higher score! Sure, this isn't really a "hike", but the view from the mountain is gorgeous. It is a great spot for sunset, and you can have dinner before that at the tables. There is also a good amount of wild life, mainly birds but sometimes biggest animals too. Why eat at the campground when you can have this?!

Easy, nice flat walk with our baby and grandparents.

A nice stroll and beautiful scene, but it was very busy.

It’s an easy trail (if you want to call it one; it’s a paved walkway to the end), but the altitude might make it difficult for some. Completed this on 05/27/18. The views are spectacular! Definitely climb the rocks at the end to get some good views and to see the mountain index. It’s called Tundra Communities Trail on the sign and on the RMNP map.

Short but terrific trail with well designed informational panels describing the habitat. High altitude will make the trip a bit difficult for some, but is well worth the effort.

Well-interpreted historic site. Worth the short walk with kids.

Took this trail on 6/10/18. Leisurely walk around the lake with a nice spur trail to go up on the ridge to overlook. Saw a large bull moose in the marsh on side of the trail and lots of people were taking Picts.

It’s a walk in the sky. Great views.
Fairly easy, short hike with informational plaques along the route. Near the end are several rock outcroppings that you can climb, and the “Trail Ridge Mountain Index” at the Toll memorial.
We saw a lot of marmots.

Easy walk around the lake. Beautiful view of Halletts Peak. We went in the late afternoon, and there were a lot of fly fishermen. It was cool to see!

Fun trail, with neat payoff at the end

Super easy level trail. Good for taking a toddler on. Beautiful views. Lots of good photo ops. Easy parking.

A beautiful trail at 12,000 ft. Steep in the beginning but levels later. We spotted a pika when we were here. It was already cold, but the wind when we were here made it feel colder than it would have been otherwise. Lot of informative markers along the trail. There was good amount of snow when we did the trail and the kids loved that.

An easy trail providing pretty amazing views of Forest Canyon and beautiful snow covered mountains. One of the many turn outs on the Trail Ridge road, provides sweeping views of alpine tundra. We saw couple of Marmots when we were here.

Super easy trail with amazing views and lots of nature surrounding it. Saw several elk and tons of ducks, also great for fishing. Not a lot of people on the trail, so you’ll have plenty of time to yourself!

Perfect for family and friends visiting from lower elevations. Not too crowded today, and we saw lots of wildlife (including several harmless snakes!).

Love the west side of RMNP for less crowds and wildlife. Nice little walk with a good chance to see wildlife.

Not really a hike, just a walk around the lake. Pretty views of the surrounding mountains though and potential to see wild life. Busy and hard to find parking. Nice one to do with children.

5/25. Nice walk with beautiful views. We saw a moose which was a wonderful surprise! We walked up to the old village but did not walk around the village.

Simple hike with amazing views

5/23. Nice easy walk around the lake. Saw a couple of elk. Great place for a picnic.

Well maintained, handicapped accessible trail around the lake. We were fortunate to locate parking since this is a very busy place! Also a good area to refill your water bottles and wind down on the way back from Bierstadt Lake Trail!
