Fun little trail with lots of wildflowers and butterflies. you go downhill for the first falf then back up hill for the back half. we also saw a wild turkey. Good trail for kids!

Great trail with pretty views with some steep parts of the trail! The pond is rather enjoyable stopping point! Can’t wait to explore trails in the state park

steep hike out on a gravelly washed out road.

THIS TRAIL IS NOT DOG FRIENDLY. They turned us away at the gates to the state park saying our dog couldn’t be on any of the trails. Super frustrating we had to scramble to find something different.

Loved the trail. Steep long hills, just the challenge this old gal needed. Love the wooded areas as well as the outlook over the valley to the mountains. Beautiful

It’s not an easy hike. There’s a high gradual climb in this trail. This is a combination of easy at start but intermediate about half way through. I’m glad I had changed my mind on pulling a cart with some drinks and food in it. It’s a nice scenery though.

May 30 hike. Nice trail with good mix of shade and sunny stretches. A few steep hills but trails are wide with portions on what appear like service roads. Nice views of woodlands, meadows and mountains in the distance. Two small ponds.

Nice trail, shade for a majority of hike. There are a few spots that have a pretty steep incline. Overall, nice hike!

Great hike with lots of Aspens, fairly exposed for most of the trail.

Completed this trail on 5/20 and the walk was beautiful. Just be careful of all the elk scat in the beginning.

Great hike, lightly trafficked. If you follow the downloaded map gps exactly you will end up going off trail. Just follow the dirt road and it will take you where you need to go

Great trail for families! It’s in state park, so you have to pay! Annual pass is the way to go. I wore sandals and shorts and was surprised to see a bunch of snow. It wasn’t horrible, but my feet were getting cold! Other than that, really good and well marked trail! Not too challenging with my wife and twin 5 year olds!

I liked this trail for my first winter hike. Mostly snow packed and suitable for microspikes with some areas of looser snow. Great views, easy access to trailhead, not accessible for dogs though which is a bummer. Overall enjoyed it!

Hiked from the visitor center to trail 1 to 21. Beautiful area with a mix of pines and aspen. Snow was really deep most of the 5 miles. Ended up post holding with snowshoes. Super winter hike!

Good trail, harder in the snow but it felt great!

Trail is beautiful! But in this time of the year the south side of trail was really icy. Make sure you bring appropriate shoes, among any other gear like spikes.

Excellent winter hike. We did not get to the overlook b/ the snow was deep enough that it slowed us down. Ended up being a tough 7 mile hike. Would do the hike again. So beautiful and quiet.

Not much here, to be honest. Some decent views of Pikes peak. We were staying at the park and looking for a short hike. It fit the bill just fine, but nothing real spectacular.
