It’s was a beautiful hike took a separate path and it had spectacular views and lots of meadows with flowers of all colors would definitely do this one again great spot

Pristinely managed with a very good array of wildflowers. I went yesterday via RTD from Boulder and due to construction in Boulder Cyn, I got a free tour of the Peak to Peak Hwy going to Ned via Lyons. I entered the park via the elementary school in Ned onto the Kinickinick Trail and turned left onto Tungsten and left again onto the Caribou connector. It was stunning and easy enough. I circled back via the Lake and exited on the intersection of Hwy 72 and Hwy 128 which I don't think is a designated exit trail but well-worn anyway. Easy walk back to Ned via the Community Center. This is a terrific no-car day trip; easy and well-maintained trails, very good wildflower viewing, and only a few friendly people to encounter. Can't wait ti go back and do the Caribou Trail. I got a lot out of an RTD day pass!

fun Easter walk with my family. easy to push a stroller around the lake.

Very easy trail - nice for a quick hike. Packed snow on trail. No need for spikes. Quite muddy as snow melts.

Packed snow and a little bit of ice on most of the trail with some bare areas. Easily doable without spikes, some in our group used them, some went without. One or two ok vistas otherwise you’re in the trees. Overall a pleasant short hike near Nederland.

Sat Mar 16, 2019: access road is drivable with standard car. Parking was a little snowy but most spots were accessible. Restrooms open. Trails are snow packed; we used snowshoes but some people were just in boots (and a very few on skis). About 16” snow. Beautiful day, 36 degrees and virtually no wind. A nice easy trail, a few minimal ups and downs. A couple nice mountain views through the trees.

I was looking for an easy hike to start to get back in shape. I had Stabilicers on my hiking boots; some people had snowshoes. Beautiful, sunny day; went with my daughter, well marked trails. According to the AllTrails app it was supposedly 4.4 miles, but tracking our route it was about 3 miles. Still, a nice hike! February 17, 2019. All was snow covered.

Went Jan 31, 2019 for a snowshoe on both loops. Weather was sunny with wind and temps in the 30's. Trail was covered in packed down snow with a few patches of bare ground. Off trail the snow was decent. Snowshoes worked ok on the trails but spikes would have been fine. Covered about 2.6 miles on rather scenic paths. Overall an easy and enjoyable trek.

I wanted to try my new snow shoes but there was not enough snow. Hiked the loops with just snow traks and poles. It’s an easy walk but very pretty with the 3 in of snow most places. You could tell people had been there before me but I did not see a soul the whole hike. Disappointed that I didn’t get to see any wildlife, but it was a perfect cold, calm afternoon stroll. The lake is frozen solid at least 2/3 reds of the way in. If you lost your car keys there, someone dropped them in the box at the trailhead map.

Unremarkable. Certainly not ugly though. Road noise throughout about half of the small loop. On the back side you seem to get into the trees for a minute, but then you are out and done with the loop pretty quick. Good for an evening walk if you in Ned and just want something close by for 20 minutes or so.

Just walked the Tungsten loop cause we wanted a short hike. It was super easy, basically a walk in the woods, and very beautiful. Lake is right by the parking lot so you don’t hike at all to get to it. Very pretty! Area was patchy with snow and the trail was quite muddy but not a problem for my trail runners. We went on Saturday around 2pm and trail was empty with only 3-4 cars in the parking lot. Quiet and peaceful. Really enjoyed it and now wish I would have done the whole thing.

Pretty Trail. Simple & easy walk with water views. A little bit of car noise.

Changing colors of the aspens, mainly yellows, made the scenery worthwhile on this hike. Hiked around the lake then took the loops back into the park. There are prospector mine pits all over the site. There was one in particular that was fenced off and pretty deep down past the roots of two large aspens.

Very easy trail, quiet, not a lot of traffic

Nice trail run with easy dirt single track. Trail is mostly shaded with some wildflowers (mostly fleabane, yarrow, wild roses, & thistles) . Mud Lake is prettier than it sounds.

Easy little walk in the woods. Mostly shaded. Water source if you take the spur that goes to the other open space. Lots of wildflowers.

A great hike for the kids. A very easy and well marked trail. Plenty of cover, and some nice views. It is all smooth single track, with very little elevation gain. There are maps at the parking lot.

Great easy hike with lots of beautiful flowers! Very kid friendly with lots of trees!

Beautiful wildflowers on an easy trail. So easy that we did the loop twice. Fragrant forest and beautiful views.

Love the pond after a storm and just at dusk.

I would say easy, versus moderate, after all, 12 month old babes were riding their bikes. But perfect little hike when you want to be in the trees and see a lake and not have to break a sweat. My puppy loved it.

Easy and relaxing walking with a 2 year old who likes to walk on her own.

I did this Trail a couple weeks ago and there wasn’t enough snow. Ended up using my micro spikes instead. It’d be a really nice easy trail had there been more snow!

Pleasant, mellow trail. Not at all challenging but nice if you’re looking for an easy stroll through the woods.

This is a fun place if you want an uber-easy mtn bike ride. No fishing allowed, so the shoreline is cleaner than a lot of other places. This place isn't spectacular but it's sweet and a great picnic spot.

Easy in and out. On 10/28/17 we saw a family group of moose 50 feet off the trail. Scary, but awesome once it was over.

Nice walk...not too far out of Denver

Beautiful easy trail around a small lake.
