We added on Tower Trail at the end which was perfect! Can’t wait to do it all again.

Great, easy trail with great views. Great spot to bring out of town guests for an easy hike with good views. We did see a large rattlesnake along the trail yesterday. (5/27/20)

Got over 10 miles on this hike today by taking a couple of the trail options along the way. I got out here about 10 and wrapped up by 1. The descent was real warm as the trail is almost entirely exposed. You get some good views of Red Rocks, Morrison and the surrounding peaks as you ascend.

Very accurately described in previous reviews. Good tail for those looking to build from easy to medium. Many fewer people, and no kids compared to other trails in the park.

Such a lovely trail with some shaded areas and picnic benches! We saw two deer driving up to the base of the trail so be extra cautious. Ended up hiking castle trail around 10:30 on a Tuesday, the parking lot looked crowded yet there weren’t that many people on the trail, also there is plenty of space to socially distance. The ruins at the castle were spectacular and the view on top of eagle point was beautiful as well!

Good hike and nice views!

Some stretches wear heavy sun exposure, but also some heavy forested spots. I would say 68% of the time exposed to sun. Wear some sun block and have some more water than you think. Some steep long stretches you might want to pause after

Gorgeous views... spent some time at the eagle shelter.

Such a nice little workout close to Denver. It was short and sweet and not terribly crowded, even midday on a Saturday (thanks to the sheriff metering cars). Would do again! Trail was clean and in/out of shade the whole time. Nice breeze, perfect weather!

Great trail for our 2yr old! We went counterclockwise and he hiked the first two miles. Not too crowded compared to other trails at the park. Get there before 10 for parking

Very easy hike. Some rocky areas but nothing difficult. Great views of mountains, red rocks amphitheater, mansion ruins and wild life. The deer were grazing alongside the trail. My 3 year old did beautifully on this one.

Nice trail, relatively easy. Loads of people with no masks not actively trying to social distance while on the trail.

fantastic trail, close to Denver. would advise going ccw on parmalee due to hiking traffic. perfectly undulating, mostly smooth trail for trail runners. encountered a herd of deer that were downright friendly. a+ would recommend

Pretty but slightly underwhelming views compared to Boulder trails. Highly trafficked on weekends. Walker ruins are roped off so there’s not much to see which was disappointing. Fairly steep in sections especially the first part going up to the ridge but most of the trail is an easy hike with wide paths that would be good for active families (we saw a lot of them). About half of it is in the sun, half covered. Trail is completely dry as of May 9.

I enjoyed this hike and found the view to the right of the little pavilion very nice. I think it was called meadow trail or something. The castle ruins were alrighttt.

Nice easy hike. Lots of people with young kids and dogs. Parking was pretty busy but we also went on a Sunday- so to be expected. Easy to make the hike longer or shorter with several different paths. Nice views throughout!

Great trail with lots of sun intermittent with shaded forested areas. A real good uphill hike back to the lot so save your energy. Pretty crowded as well. Lots of bikes and dogs.

Easy hike. Love all the trees. Totally dry on 4/30.

Completed last night on 4.29.30. It was beautiful!! Arrived at 6pm. Both parking lots were almost full. Saw a lot of people at the beginning of the hike. But then once we got to the end of this trail, THERE WAS NO ONE. We posted up with a picnic on a rock to take in the sunset and for the next 2 hours we only saw about 6 people who were all just passing by. It was a gorgeous sunset spot so we were shocked no one was there. We will be going back!!

Only a spot or two with minimal snow

Decent views off trail, barely any snow left, pretty trafficked in parts, castle ruins on the trail. Cop sitting at the entry monitoring the parking lots and turning you around if all formal spots full although there’s a small amount of parking off the road right by the entry.

Great hike. We stuck to the right side trail and the views were amazing. You can even go see Tower Trail lookout too. Take this trail!

there's some snow on the meadow trail. took a bunch of kids and they did really well. fun hike!! really pretty!!
