Nice woodland walk. I didn’t think it was too hard. Got to the beginning of Calypso Trail and needed snow shoes. The skiers looked like they had a great day.

Gate was closed and locked. Closed for the winter season? Found Parachute Road close by as an alternative moderate off roading adventure.

this trail is awesome! i ran it the way described here, luckily, because it was super icy. this is the downhill direction (west to east) but i can't wait to try it the other way (uphill) in the summertime. definitely some harder obstacles than i've seen from the usual moderate rating but everything gnarly has an easy way. if you'd like to see a video of the run i have one up at:

07 ranger manual
no lift
no locker
no sway bar

youtube trail channel: b roll offroad

have fun!

Great hike. Beautiful cascades at the end. This was on the easy side of a moderate hike.

A great trail; wether you're a beginner or an experienced hiker. You'll experience a variety of terrain along the way to the Calypso Cascades. Definitely a beautiful and calming experience. But don't stop there! Go the extra 0.9 miles to Ouzel Falls; you won't be disappointed! And be sure to take the trail up to the main falls; if you're extra adventurous, you can climb right up to the base of the main waterfall. Enjoy

Passed this while going to Ouzel Falls. This was a beautiful place to see how water creates it's own path. With little experience took us a little while to get there, but worth our time.

Beautiful trail! Limited parking available. The trail starts with a good jaunt uphill to get the heart going and becomes increasingly beautiful as you approach the cascades.

Beautiful. The waterfalls are an amazing feature.

Beautiful trail, well marked with scenes galore. Advise at least 1 hiking pole for anyone with balance issues to maneuver around natural steps. Very quiet trail with lots of options to connect to other trails.

The directions under the "Getting There" tab are to the Wild Basin TH. The title and the track shown on the map are from the Allenspark TH, which is the trail we took. Highway 7 to Allenspark, turn right/north just before the post office onto County Road 90, left on S Skinner Rd, right on Meadow Mountain Dr to the well-signed TH with very limited parking. A trail crew was repairing the damaged section of the trail when we went by. The rest of the trail is in great shape. We are slow, old fogeys and hiked to Calypso Cascades in less than two hours. We did not continue to Ouzel Falls due to threatening weather. The trail from Wild Basin TH is shorter with substantially less elevation gain, but I have not hiked it. The trail from Wild Bain TH is also more heavily used. The trail from Allenspark is closed to horses until the repairs are completed.

Beautiful! Whew, a hike to get there since we started late and so had an extra 1.5 miles to hike since the parking lots were full. Who knew? Still the hike was worth it with rushing water all the way.

Very easy hike. Less crowded than the rest of RMNP.

I'm sure the falls are gorgeous, but we headed straight for the Calypso Cascade trail only to find some decent damage to the trail due to past flooding. It is passable, but we were chickens and didn't want to risk scrambling over an extremely narrow and questionable patch of damage and turned back. NOTE there is extremely limited parking... Like, as in 15 spots and tiny lot

Great hike!! Beautiful waterfalls!

Pretty views. Not too tough, section east of the central part of the trail has a few challenges.

Experienced this fall on our way to the ouzel fall. This was quite a beautiful waterfall and I enjoyed taking a moment to enjoy it. Not a hard hike at all. Many kids and older people on the trail.

This is a great, not to difficult trail near Allens Park (Wild Basin trail head). This trail leads to Ouzel Falls. Great trail that follows the St Verain River. Mostly covered canopy so if you're looking for great vistas this isn't for you. If you love water and falls, then yes!
