An enjoyable but challenging hike with a scramble to the top. The view was well worth it though. Gets pretty hot in the middle of the day though with no shade. Got to the top in 1.5 hours.

A great trail that warms you up at the beginning before the climb. If it’s a sunny and/or hot day, take sunscreen because the majority of the trail is in the sun with no cover. The view is great from the top as well.

Nice hike with cool views of Red Rocks at the top of Morrison Slide Trail. Pretty narrow through out and very rocky.

awesome hike! plan for 3 hours, but you can do it faster. there's definitely scramble at the top and you'll need to do a little climbing. I took my 40lb dog all the way to the top, but there were 2-3 spots at the top where I had to lift her up/down the rocks because she couldn't make it.

I would rate this hike more towards moderate as the uphill climb to the "top" gets your heart racing. There are areas of shade and sun.

Loud road noise the entire trail. Not much shade.

Easy little hike close to Denver!

What a great hike, very close to my home. Provides a nice moderate workout and incredible views!

nice easy 6ish miles. highlight of the day was seeing large group of mule deer bedded down off village ride...

Beautiful run on the trail this morning with my dog. Saw a rattle snake approx 1/4 mile in from the trail head!

It’s a short easy hike. Not very scenic on the way up. Lots of noise from the highway. It’s an OK and easy hike.

Loved the trail, great incline on the trail. Great views encountered very few people on the trail. Went on a Monday in the morning about 9:30 couldn’t ask for more being that it was 15 minutes from my house .

The sunset views from this hike are great - but this time we had to turn back half a mile in. There was an extremely aggressive rattlesnake that just wouldn’t clear off the path. Be aware!

Great hike length for a beginner hiker in CO! Minimal shade, so lots of water helped make this a very enjoyable hike. Some decent spots near the ampitheater to sit and take in the view.

I hiked this for the first time on Wednesday, 8/7. It took me 2 hours and 40 minutes, mid afternoon. MapMyRun tells me I did 4 miles total, so I’m not sure if at the top I just walked farther than I was supposed to or if I zigzagged enough to add in a little extra bonus mileage. It definitely took me longer than I expected. I agree with all the reviews, it is a relentlessly steep one! Great workout. My legs were sore in a good way for a couple of days afterwards. I’m 37 and live in Denver. I hike about once a week, but lately it’s been a 6.5 mile loop on Green Mountain, and comparing would be an apples to oranges scenario. Beware, there was an angry rattlesnake right in the path in the first 1/2 mile when I hiked this. I luckily passed some hikers who warned me because they turned back. Still scared me! I’ll do it again for sure!

The Dakota Ridge Trail is poorly marked, shale so loose and the confusing. Either plan to stay on the pavement or skip this one!

Super fun trail with a tough incline for the first half mile and again towards the top of the mountain. Great views and great workout!
