One of my favorite hikes since it is so close to Denver but a different geography. I live very close and prefer to take guests here.
I’ve seen owls and raptors around the rocks and like the view at the end.

It's an ok trail. Good for beginners.

It's pretty much a reverse version of Dakota Ridge and Red Rocks Trail. First mile or so was boring, but once it gets closer to Red Rocks, the view gets better. Good and fun trail for beginner hikers. Have fun!

Pretty easy trail. Didn't go all the way out and back. Not a ton of shade, so definitely wish I had put on sunscreen. Will also wear my boots next time cause it's pretty rocky and rough on my ankles. On the way up, there's interesting geological facts about the area. Nice views of the back of red rocks too.

The only pro for this trail is that it provides quick access to Dakota Ridge from the east.

This is my favorite front range hike! Huge elevation gain for such a short distance! Great way to prepare for 14ers on the weekend.

Really enjoyed this hike. Pretty steep grade on the first and last leg of the hike, but such a worthwhile experience. Great training, due to the elevation gain in less than 1.7 miles. As previously stated by other reviewers, there’s very little shade, so if it’s a warm day, be prepared for that and bring plenty of water.
Hearing the sound check of the band getting ready for the concert at Red Rocks was an added benefit.

During the week, the traffic is decently low. Nice lookouts and lots of raptors surfing the air currents around the cliffs. Loop with Dakota Ridge for a decent mileage loop.

Nearly 1900ft elevation gain in about 1.7 miles is no joke! Super fun & challenging workout that is close to home with great views at the top! Shoes with good grip are highly recommended, ie trail runners or hiking shoes. Bring plenty of water since the trail is exposed with very little shade. Bring a snack so you can hang out up top & enjoy the views of the mountains & city!

Fantastic trail that's a quick drive from Denver. Park right outside Red Rock gate #4 on Titans Rd. Get there early cause there's no much space! the trail is past the gate to the left, and not really marked except a "no bikes" sign. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS HIKE! You start off climbing and rarely stop till the top. There is little cover and the sun will punish you. Footing can be tough with a lot of loose, small rocks. However... payoff is a great workout with great views.

Great hike close to home!

Nice hike before a show

HIGHLY TRAFFICKED. Views look over Morrison and Ken Caryl. Lots of dog poop people haven’t even bagged. Lots of dogs. But there’s a bike or a group of people about every 20ft; on weekends, weekdays, morning or night. Really detracts from the scenery. Highly. Trafficked.

Nice trail for a liesurely hike or run. Easy going switchbacks up to the Dakota Ridge Trail. I took to the right for some good views and a bit more challenging stair cimb up to the top of the ridge. Will definately be going back to sample some of the other trails in the area.

3.8 miles 1950 ft elevation. Awesome hike for how short it is and close to Denver, we did it in the evening for sunset and there was a show going on at Red Rocks below. Some sections are pretty steep and sandy, trekking poles recommended, definitely wear decent shoes. Final scramble to the top is lots of fun.

Watch for rattlesnakes. Not small dog friendly

Beautiful Trail. Very little tree coverage so plan accordingly with sun and heat.

Very interesting archeological site. The hike is easy on the road, shared with road cyclists. I thought it was really interesting to see the old seabed and footprints and more. Combined with the Dakota ridge trail it’s a nice hike. No shade, so don’t forget the sunscreen. The Dakota ridge trail can be somewhat challenging in the heat, i for one had a slightly hard time because my body doesn’t handle heat very well. Probably best enjoyed early morning or evening before sunset.

Short hike to get to the Dakota ridge trail. I combined this hike with Dakota and dinosaur ridge. In itself not very exciting.

Very beautiful views. I combined this hike with the zorro trail and dinosaur ridge. I would rate it more towards moderate. It’s not a hard hike, but it also not very easy. If you are not in shape the climbing might cause some issues.

I only came to see the dinosaurs but a neat walk, the ridge offers nice views of the surrounding region.

I’ve hiked this trail today and it’s a very beautiful trail. It doesn’t follow the red rock trail for most of the hike, it turns onto a black trail. But it’s absolutely worth it. You can also choose to continue following the red rocks trail, it’s an easier trail with less ascending. However if you are in a decent shape, take the black trail via the top of the mountain for beautiful views of the city. Watch out for rattle snakes, I’ve seen one sunbathing on the trail. More people have seen them a lot sunbathing.

Dog friendly!

This trail had nice views and diverse terrain. I would say it is not kid friendly as there are many places a child could fall over the edge and parts that were very steep or rocky.

Nice hike with limited shade so sun screen or an early start is best. Nice views of red rocks area and worth the “walk”.
