Hiked this trail late this morning. About 2” snow on 90% of the trail. Starting temp was 51 degrees but a front passed and dropped 10 degrees. Snow was soft and not icy. No slush and trail was yet to become muddy. Fresh moose tracks in the snow before the fishing hole and had a chickaree yelling at me. GGCSP only 3mi from home - can’t beat that!

Good trail with great views from Windy Peak. Don’t forget your $7 to park.
Found a perfect spot to hang the hammocks and chill.

good hike and good views. foliage was past its peak, but not the trail's fault!

well blazed and we'll kept

Great day on a well maintained and well marked trail. The Aspens were just about at the end of their colors but the we’re still a few out there.

We started the loop at panorama point and went clockwise. We skipped going to the campground and Endomondo clocked us at 2.60 miles. Once you come around the loop it gets fairly steep out if no where, so we may try going counterclockwise next time to have a more gradual incline. The trail is marked really well and maintained. The aspen are really starting to look great right now so come while you can.

Beautiful trail with a medium crowd. Moderate is an accurate rating. Aspens were beautiful!!

We did this trail with 4 adults (ranging in age and fitness levels) and one large dog. It was a beautiful early fall hike. The inclines were nice and made it feel like a workout but I’m with the others who have posted that maybe this hike shouldn’t be classified as difficult. Nice hike, though.

nice Sunday walk, the aspens are changing and there were lots of places to stop and take pictures. a little bit busy

The aspens were beautiful! This hike has it all, meadows, aspens, sections through the evergreen trees, amazing view on top of the rocks of the canyon. Just the right amount of difficulty.

Awesome trail, the views when you reach panorama point are amazing. Great place to see the leaves changing in the fall.

We actually went on Sunday! It was gorgeous hike. Fall is here finally, and the foliage was gorgeous!
Fall came a little early this year, so some leaves have fallen, but a beautiful sunny day!!
Good crowd of people out hiking, I would say busy. The trail is wide in most spots, and it doesn’t matter which end you start from, your going downhill and uphill!
Enjoy

Great fall foliage trail but lots of traffic, not one I would suggest if you want to be at alone with nature. Good for dogs and kids. Headed clockwise towards Panorama Point but found epic views shortly before. Parking is limited and a bit confusing, pull in behind the information center to find spots. This will be one of our fall go to spots for a quick and beautiful trail.

This is the first time we took this direction to Windy Peak. We usually leave from Nott Creek TH but there was a trail race and the parking lot was packed. Burro up to Windy Peak is a steady climb with some nice view throughout. Windy Peak never disappoints. Very crowded today with the trail run and lots of people looking at the turning leaves. Generally this one is pretty quiet.

The aspens are beautiful and we caught the meadow in beautiful late afternoon light. Not too many people on the trail, especially once we got to the loop. Not too difficult and a quick drive from Denver.

Great hike! fall colors were awesome.

Glad to walk on clockwise. Walking on a trail with a dog on leash definitely uses more energy and more patience, and at times, poses more risk when you descend. I know my dog is thinking the same. Two-legged person can slip and fall, dragging the more secured 4-legged dog down. There were some spots that were steep and my dog was not very happy to have the other end of the leash held by the unstable two-legged person. My dog has the natural strategies to climb down, while this human prevented her to do so (my apologies). Lots of shade, and some great views.

I should title this 'Pay Attention to Your GPS'.

Great trail. It took my dogs and I about an hour and a half to complete from the campground. will definitely do it again. It's a plus that the aspens are changing right now!!

Great trail - well maintained and clearly marked. I got there at 6:50 on Tuesday and didn’t see a single other person the whole hike. Sunrise was technically at 6:45, but since the trail is in a valley I walked in shade almost the entire time. The aspens are beautiful right now! I took another hiker’s advice and went clockwise. It was nice to get the short, rocky uphill bursts out of the way at the beginning. There a really gorgeous spot where the trail opens to a panoramic view just before you get to the actual “Panorama Point.” Other than that there’s not many views, but the hike was still lovely.

nice day hike.

Absolutely love this trail. It has a good bit of incline too it but the majority of it is covered. Beautiful pines and aspen trees everywhere. We have hiked it in September and in January and have loved it both times.

Still one of our favorites close to Denver. We take Mountain Lion counter clockwise to Windy Peak. The creek is currently dried up but is usually flowing pretty good. Steady climb to Windy Peak with a somewhat tough half mile push to the peak. Generally pretty quiet and although this trail allows bikes, we rarely seem them on Mountain Lion stretch to the peak. Great views at the top.

Enjoyed the views at Panorama Point. Also, there were some golden aspens which is why we went. Beautiful location and a good loop.
Some inclines may slow down the pace but overall a manageable hike (even for a four year old) in its entirety.
I recommend going clockwise so that you have dirt instead of big gravel when going downhill.

Up hill for a good chunk so it does challenge you a bit. Fun. Nice views but it was the same view the whole time.

We were not ready for this trail however it was well worth it! The view from the top is amazing.

Beautiful and easy trail with lots of golden aspens and pine trees. Panoramic Point has two lovely photo opportunities and a great view! Perfect for a quick hike when you don’t want to drive super far from Denver. Not much elevation gain and the trail is well marked. We did a late Saturday afternoon hike and found parking easily. Trail not overly crowded. We brought our Great Dane and it was a perfect amount of walking and tree cover for him.

Decent hike, nice views but not much of a creek during the summer. Fairly good inclines, brought a toddler and had to carry her a good amount.

Leaves are turning! Lots of families on the trail. Started at panorama point and went counter clockwise, best views at the start and finish.

Did this hike with my 9 year old dog on a Friday. I was surprised there wasn't a lot of traffic on the trail. The leaves are changing so it's a beautiful time of year to go. A couple uphills but a fairly easy hike. The trail is well marked with lots of areas where you have to decide where to turn.
