Fun hike, beautiful day for it, very little ice/snow so no spikes/trax necessary. Rocky hike great workout

Great hike with gradual ascend. Micro-spikes were needed close to the peak.

Pretty solid hike with steady climb throughout - not bad elevation (just shy of 10k feet) for how close it is to the city. It was a bit slick towards the top in shaded areas, so yaktrax or micro spikes would be recommended. Definitely windy!

This hike was a long one but a good one! All different terrain, could’ve benefited from spikes worn if you take the Bergen peak trail to the top. Lots of ice. We took too long trail on the way back to make it into a loop and it was much more dry! The views were beautiful at the top and made it a great stop for lunch!

3/24/18 — 3.5 stars. No incredible views or big terrain, but it was a great 4.2 mile walk with the dog. Followed this trail map exactly, but opted to walk the road side first so the rest of the hike would be quiet. Almost everyone went the other way from the start. I was impressed with the mix of terrain. I felt like we hiked through three different seasons. No hiking boots required. There was a total of maybe 100’ of snow/slush on the backside, but it was easy to walk around it. I’ll be back.

Nice hike with expansive views to the south. The change of terrain along the way makes it an interesting half day outing, passing through the meadow, forest and rockier summit.

A beautiful hike with a lot of changing scenery. End is close to the highway but the rest is fantastic!

Amazing workout, stunning views!

Nice hike. I connected Too Long to create a loop, resulting in 10 miles. I also agree this is morderate, not hard.

This was an "out and back" trail but I made it to different trails to make a loop and a total of 10 miles including Too long trail. I would rate this trail "moderate" not hard. Some dogs were off leash which I don't mind but it was required to. It was too icy for trail running but I got some done.

Great time on Bergen trail. We had some visitors from Orlando FL and decided to tackle Bergen. We unfortunately made it up 3.6 miles to the top with amazing views. Had lunch and made our descent. Took approximately 4.5 hrs total. Enjoy it. I would say this trail is more of a moderate than hard trail.

PS keep an eye out for a mystery box on the mountain with a disposable camera and log book. Add to it and leave.

I love this trail! This is a great trail if you're looking for a workout as the first half is quite steep. And while you can see the highway, it's only for .3 mile or so. The rest of the hike is remote. And I didn't have any issues with mountain bikers.

I ran this trail as part of the "Bergen Peak Half Marathon". I loved this race- it was hard but awesome, lots of variety in terrain, and great views. If you like trail racing, sign up for next year. Check out the Evergreen Trail Racing Series. they have 4 races. I think I'm signing up for the series next year.

It's a nice effortless walk. I collect rocks from all my hikes and this place had a lot of white stones, clear crystals, and white mica. I went in the afternoon and it wasn't very crowded. There's enough trails and length that you passed by a few people but that's about it. The trails next to highway, you get a little more noise, but it's not unbearable. Maybe I think it's not bad though because I live in Cherry Creek which has waaaay more noise. Oh! And it's gives you a pretty decent view of the forest.

Good workout- the grade is steady. Great view at the top.
Too bad that I could hear the highway noise most of the 4 hours on the trail. Watch out for mountain bikers.

We recommend heading up the steep part first, then doubling back after halfway so you don’t have to walk along the highway at the end.

Beautiful ride. Climbs were good. The descents were a little more technical than I would qualify as easy. I would call this an intermediate ride. Nice cultured trail with lots of tree cover for shade. Definitely worth the trip whether biking, hiking, or running. Very polite people here in Colorado. That speaks greatly to their character. Thanks for the experience!

Easy to find, wide trail. Nice loop, but because it is so easy to access / close to Evergreen Pkwy, there is also road noise.
