I thought the snow would be melted with the warm weather but much of the trail was snow/ice packed and rutted from previous hikers and runners. Yak Trax are a necessity and in a couple spots I was sinking into deeper snow. I am not an experienced winter trail runner so maybe this is a piece of cake, but it was a challenge for me this afternoon. Ankles are worn out!!

Good views at the peaks. Too much highway noise at the beginning for my preference but it’s a good hike.

Snow in the shaded areas which makes it a bit slippery and muddy at parts but great hike, especially for November!

My first little hike after back surgery 2 1/2 months ago. Just the right thing to restart with this beautiful, easy trail. Many people with dogs on leashes. And runners too. Was a bit slippery in the forest parts but nice.

Great trail a short trip out of Denver. Well-maintained trail loop which is moderately trafficked. Good hills and is pretty technical in parts. Great views of the meadow once you're up on the hillside.

went mountain biking here, really peaceful and not too steep, great for beginners!

Easy for Colorado. Some shade. Restroom :)

A Buddy and I did elk meadow trail to painters pause to sleepy S to complete a nice loop around the meadow. We kept to fairly even elevation this way.

Amazing view at the top. Endless switchbacks, but beats walking straight up a mountain! You'll run into other hikers and bikers guaranteed, but everyone has been courteous from my many experiences on the trail.

Dog friendly, easy hike!

moderately trafficked single track with lots of shade once you get past 1st mile in the meadow. lots of wind on the west side of hills. Got to see 2 mule deer on the way up for bonus today...recorded dist a little off due to one errant data point on other side of CO74

Good for families and out of towners. The views weren’t great but a nice outing, all the same.

So. Much. Road. Noise.

Beautiful meadows. Easy hike. A little too close to the highway and lots of car noises.

good workout near the house but certainly not that exciting. and most definitely not hard, moderate at best. it's a bit long, but certainly not hard. looked fun for the mountain bikes

Started 8:45am Thursday Sep 19 — well maintained but crowded and no shade for the first 3+ miles, lots of joggers, walkers, a few other dogs, and bikes. All friendly! Second half was better for the dog and me, shady and a little breeze with elevation. Miraculously, I ran into my sister in law! I know almost zero people in Colorado still, and haven’t seen her in the two years we’ve been here! Awesome.

This is a great trail. Lots of shade once you get into the woods on the Bergen Peak trail. It’s switchbacks with a steady incline so you are getting a constant work out but really isn’t too crazy. Beautiful scenery.

Beautiful day for a hike. Ran into a few courteous mountain bikers.

This is a nice trail running trail since the elevation gain is gradual. Pretty views at the top!

loved this hike. very mild and scenic. MTB were friendly.
