Well marked trail with a good mix of sun and shade. Good hike to do with a dog as it is not super rocky or steep. It is heavily trafficked so make sure to have your mask handy.

Nice trail half shaded(lovely part) half in sun closer to highway. Good if you need a quick access that is relatively easy.

We took Meadow View to Sleepy's to Founder's back down to Meadow to the Stagecoach trail head for a little over 5 miles. Got there at noon on a Tuesday, had a nice picnic before hiking. Parking was at 75% capacity. Not as shady as I had hoped, but a nice easy trail. Pretty rocky in the back Founder's section, so watch your footing. Bikers were 95% polite, courteous and made their presence aware, a few were the typical lunatics going as fast as they can. Majority of people had face coverings. We worn ours when passing (there is enough room to social distance usually) and if they had a buff or covering the were courteous to do the same. Might come back for an early hike later in July when there are more wild flowers. Never a bad time getting fresh air. Oh, and the trail is very well maintained and we only saw one dog poop bag on trail that we picked up.

Hiked 06/28. Nice, moderate trail that's mostly covered with trees all the way through so you'll have plenty of shade. Has decent views throughout. The peak at Bergen peak is at around 10,000 ft so it gets pretty cool at the top but the view is decent at best. No part of it has any serious ascent and is a very steady ascent instead. Took me about 5 hours to complete the trail, out and back (spent half an hour at the peak) and is definitely a good workout.

Really enjoyed this trail. Went by myself early on a Monday and there was very few other hikers and even fewer mountain bikers. Just difficult enough to keep your heart rate up without being exhausting or not fun. Lots of shaded areas, and the morning I went had good cloud cover until about noon. I did this hike as an out and back, as opposed to the loop that AllTrails suggests, which shortened the hike by less than a mile, but was good nonetheless

Went counterclockwise, did not go up to the peak. I have experience hiking but pretty out of shape and not used to the denver altitude yet. Got to the park around 7-730 finished around noon. Don't know much about mountain biking but saw a lot of bikers carrying their bikes more often then not on the way up. clockwise seems to be better for bikers. hard on your knees and shins on too long trail going down but I enjoyed walking through the meadow on the very last stretch. Views are good, not the greatest, (again didnt go to the peak) you can hear nearby traffic from interstate the entire hike.

Loved this trail. Well marked and a fun mix of openness and trees. Took about 4.5 hours to complete and the inclines were manageable. Will definitely be doing this again!

LOVED the trail itself. There were a decent number of mountain bikers that I had to avoid the entire hike. It was also surprisingly hot until the peak where it was windy and cool. Views were amazing, but I imagine this place gets pretty busy on the weekend.

It is just ok. I don’t like the Painters Pause trail because it’s right by the freeway, not very nature-like. To go in the other direction where it’s probably much better away from the road/traffic more than doubles the distance. I’ll have to try the other route when I want to hike 10+ miles. Lots of benches and other sitting structures around.

Nice workout. Pretty trail with incline into pines and beautiful views of meadows, and then into the meadow. I took my mountain bike, walked it up the hill and wrote it down.

very pretty and green, not at all a challenging hike, great for hiking with dogs, trail running, or biking, good pick for a chill walk

Super underrated, lots of loop options, mostly shaded. Great for trail running! Got to the lot at 6:30am Saturday and only a few cars, but started getting busy on the trail by 9:30. Lovely views at the top!

Great trail - would definitely do it again! Arrived at 7:45am on a Monday and there were only a few cars in the parking lot. The trail was well marked. It was nice to do a loop and get a mix of openness, woods, and beautiful views popping in/out throughout the loop and at the top. Also lots of pretty wildflowers. By the time I got back to the parking lot around 10:15ish it was completely full.

The only thing missing was a Sasquatch chasing me! Loved the trail, it’s a tough way up. Would appreciate if large groups would spread out or break their groups into 2 so trail runners and solos can easily pass.

Trail conditions were great! Moderately busy trail with beautiful views all the way up. Start early as it tends to get toasty towards the middle part of the day.

Great hike and not crowded at all. Lots of shade and spectacular views throughout. Highly recommend this hike!

Longer trail and a little sunny but a good mix of terrain and beautiful views at the top.

Arrived around 9:00 and got one of the last spots. i would recommend going counterclockwise to save the peak for towards the end! fairly busy with bikers and other hikers but not too annoying. Nice steady incline the entire way up.

Really enjoyable hike. Tough way up but great views along the way. Wouldn't recommend if you are being extra cautious around COVID19 social distancing since space is tight along most of the trail and the trail is popular

Really beautiful outside but everyone brought a group of kids so it wasn’t really a peaceful hike. Came on a Thursday afternoon and we barely found parking. It’s also right next to a highway so it’s super loud

Thoroughly enjoyed this trail. My 3yo did it without issues, we even had a jogging stroller in our party. We were passed maybe 7x by bikes, we saw maybe 10 other parties. Benches all along the path. Beautiful meadow. Elevation gain wasn’t too strenuous at all. Wooded with some sunny places. We arrived around 9am on a Wednesday morning, pleasantly surprised by the lack of crowds/cars. Restrooms and maps are at the trailhead, paths clearly marked.

Great trail for an easy hike with friends. Lots of runners and bikers, but everyone was polite! Even saw a baby elk.

Do not load directions to TH into Google maps - they are not correct for this TH! Just go to Elk Meadow Park off of Evergreen Pkwy. Be observant of your route - we were meant to do this out and back but ended up doing a loop, returning along the meadow and the road, while another in our group ended up at the parking lot off of Stagecoach Blvd. Really nice trail, though!

One of my favorite loops for a quick trail run. Quick elevation gain at the beginning (clockwise) then easy breezy down hill/flat back to the lot. Plus heavily shaded for at least half. It’s almost always busy during the warm months but never feels crowded once you get away from the trailhead. Love this trail.

Great trail for anyone looking for a hike with a young dog or someone not as well acclimated to elevation. Great views and a lot of great photo opportunities.

Outstanding views from the trail! I would strongly recommend an early arrival as we got the last parking spot in the lot at 7:30am.
