Awesome trail. Almost unmarked at times. I did this with my 11-year-old son we had a blast.

Boulder field is steep and brutal to climb in the snow. View back is amazing of course. Saw a solitary mountain goat at the top - had to get out of its way because it was coming down to us with no fear.

Great easy hike on a relatively flat trail. Lily Ponds were beautiful although frozen over. Great views on a hike back of Lake Dillon and the continental divide.

Driving was not easy due to snow/muddy condition, but breathtaking view was waiting for me. + Very nice trail!

Hiked to the first lake last weekend and there was around a foot of snow on trail which made it take like 6 hours round trip. Only thing that was lame was that you have to walk along 70 for a solid mile or so. The solitude was nice tho, lakes are frozen fyi

Good easy hike on the way to or from mountains.

The hike was beautiful! But the dirt road to get up the mountain was pretty rough, bumpy and snowy. A little scary at times even in an SUV

Trail is excellent despite all aspen leaves down and out from recent freezing. Part of directions for getting to trail head are misleading and should be revised; after turning onto Wildernest and crossing the Blue River you will come to a stoplight. At the stoplight go straight. Lowe’s entrance will be on your left but continue on the road up the hill (this is Royal Buffalo) and directions are fine from there. Do not turn onto Adams at the stoplight as indicated.

Enjoyed this hike- cut short when the dogs found a moose who wasn’t inclined to move off. We ceded the trail to it and high tailed home!

This was a nice trail, a little rocky but not bad. There were lots of dead trees but the lake at the end was worth it. We saw ducks and had a nice snack lakeside. It is hunting season so we saw several hunters, probably wouldn’t want to veer too far off the path. They were all very friendly.
