Nice trail to hit near Fort Collins after work or for an easy day hike. Definitely easy enough for a beginner or if you enjoy trail running. There was lots of snow on the trail, but easy to navigate without any spikes. Appreciate the restroom midway which is decently clean.

Fresh snow, severe single track, some post hoping. Makes for a great power run.

Nice trail close to town . Beautiful day and a lot of people. Will do again and connect to devils backbone

Trail is closed.

1-31-20: the trail was damp in a few places but over all pretty dry. As a few have stated; there is a herd of deer that made their home nearby. I spotted 3 bucks and nearly 20 does curiously keeping their eye on me as I ran by.

This was more like 7.2 miles, but beautiful and worth the trek. It’s a good trail in fall/winter/spring when the temps are mild. Not many trees. I see bucks and does most times I hike.

This hike is mostly rocky but even after a month of no snow, there are still some icy and muddy parts (north side of hills). Even if there is no wind at the parking lot, there will be at the crest. This hike also has a mixed use of hikers, mtn. bikers, runners and horses and the trail in some places is not very wide and has lots of switch backs that dont provide great visibility so if you hike with headphones, best if you take one out.

Did this yesterday starve said it was 7.1 miles. took me about 2.5 hours. I walk about 2.8 mph avg. Saw 4 Bucks and 13 does. It was beautiful untill the blustery cold wind started. but still enjoyed myself. A bit of horse poop, lots of trail runners and bicyclist. Be mindful if you have ear buds in.

Slick and icy on the Northern exposure for about 200 feet, otherwise a touch muddy and beautiful.

01-1-20 got there around 230 pm. full parking lot. lots of people on the trail. was windy and chilly. trail a mix of ice, mud, snow and dry. my group of 3 did it with no traction though. it's always a nice close go to when there is not much time to get away.
