Beautiful. No one there on a Friday. Had to use the app to keep on the right trail at the beginning.

my favorite hike ever!

I've gone 3 times in the last month. I absolutely love this trail. I hike the wildwood trail to liberty cap. I feel like Sylvester Stallone at the top!!!❤

Have hiked parts of this trail coming off the Nature Trailhead across from Visitor's Center and then from the CCC trail. Saw one other person on the two days we were on the trail. Great views, nice rolling terrain. A terrific constitutional on a beautiful day.

Easy trail, perfect after lunch at the nearby Picnic Area. Great views!

Super easy hike! With an amazing view at the end. Well throughout the entire hike.

very pretty trail and quiet. We saw few hikers. It was a very calm and clear, we were able to se Utah. We started at the Visitor Center and exited at the CCC Trail branch. We hiked the road back, we got to see the entire canyon but would choose that option next time. definitely recommend sunglasses and a hat!

Trail markers aren't great, we ended up off the path almost as soon as we started but still and enjoyable area to explore. I'd recommend marking where you started or bringing a compass - it's easy to get turned around. We followed signs for Flume 1 (often pointing in two different directions) and Inner Flume so just keep track of where you go. Great views, and some small animals.

Took us about two hours, but I wouldn't depend on that - again, really easy to get off the trail.

Good family trail, easy for kids. Good views from the bottom of the canyon and pretty rock up to the mine.

Enjoyable hike - great scenery

great trail. My 5 and 3 year old were able to make it the whole way.

Amazing hike I do a few times a month, lots to look at to keep it fun and interesting. Indian paintbrush is blooming and so are the cactus. Caterpillars and lizards are out too. I like taking the loop counter clockwise doing the longest part first makes for a fast trip back. Mining cabin at the end is fun to visit, be sure to sign the book inside.

Really beautiful hike close to town. Best in spring or fall when the weather is cooler.

It was a great hike (a bit tough as it was my first time) but it had beautiful views and was lucky to see some big horn sheeps/ mountain goats... I would definitely hike this trail again!

Excellent trail with beautiful views

Did this a couple days ago. Started at the upper TH. Very quiet, saw 1 other hiker. Visually stunning (except maybe the first 1.5 miles) especially the last mile to the lower TH. The first 5 miles or so are fairly easy. Able to complete the 13 mile or so round trip in 4 hours. Very exposed! Bring hydration and sunscreen. Trail is easy to follow. I always bring trekking poles but never used them on this trail. Maybe some class 2 depending on experience.

Fantastic views and endless trail options.

The best hike to keep in shape.

Our family loves this hike! Our dog loves this one too. We usually go in the morning but so do many other people. Beautiful.

Do the wedding trail side first as it is a harder trek. It’s a really nice trail.

Super easy with lots to see! Took our small dog on it and he had a blast in the running water beds. The sparkling white mica rocks made the ground look majestic. Had a fair bit of traffic.

Great hike. Great area. It’s rides the rim of the canyon for the most part, and has stellar views. Not much elevation change, so it’s a good hike to take if your not feeling up to something bigger. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Beautiful and easily accessible hike from the Visitors center. We even went a little off the “beaten path” and really enjoyed our time :)

This is a fairly easy trail as it has no significant climbs or descents. It’s a nice roller with some minor ups and downs. On a clear day you can see Utah. We usually hike it one way rather than doing it out and back, ending at the Visitors Center. But doing this requires two vehicles parking one at each end.

so beautiful!

Endless number of trails! Can do a ‘lite hike’ with the kiddos or a strenuous run with the dogs. Be sure to look at a map before heading out. Trails are less well marked the further you get away from the trailhead.

Not too hard of a hike but a fun one. I hiked it on a cloudy day in October and actually got above the clouds which was really cool. This trail is wide and is set up for the casual sightseer. It's one of the more popular trails at Colorado National Monument. Took me a little over one one hour to hike up and down at a casual pace. The views of the Grand Valley, Mt. Garfield, and the Bookcliffs are stunning.

Very enjoyable hike. Great views of many of the formations in Colorado National Monument. Most of the trail is very easy. The only difficult part is going up the cliffs up to Rimrock drive but the views of the Coke Ovens are worth it. I saw tons of Bighorn Sheep on the trail. Also, you can turn this trail into a loop by going on the Wedding Canyon trail. It connects back up with the Monument Canyon Trail near Independence Monument.

easy trail fun. going back with kids

Hiked this back in Nov-2017 as a very long loop with the Ute Canyon Trail (10.2 miles on the trail, plus 2.9 miles on the road). It was a long mostly flat walk, but great weather and very low people traffic. Felt like I had an entire canyon to myself :)
