Chautauqua Park is a 14 acre city park near Boulder, Colorado. The park is open to the public without an entry fee. It is a great place for hiking and trail running.

This hike is moderate to hard as it’s uphill the whole time but is short in distance! The views at the top are totally worth it. Some steep parts make it a little tricky for my dog but she made it. Love doing this hike and running the road part back down (about 2/3 of the way back down)!

opening screen says trail is moderate, but then once inside the specific trail it says hard(which is way more accurate). But that being said, absolutely gorgeous hike! the view is absolutely stunning!

This was our first hike since moving to Colorado, and we LOVED it! Definitely has some trickier parts, with climbing up rocks, but it was a really fun, rewarding hike. It was foggy when we did it, so we didn’t get to see the view from the top, but we’re definitely going to make this hike again.

Great hike! Got there at 7 in the morning and barely found a parking spot. Which had me worried but the traffic on the hike was non existent at this time. I didn’t notice many people until I was done at 10. I feel the difficulty is rated a little high on this. Nice steady incline with a couple spots to recover on the way up and along with that it’s well covered with shade. The hike offers a lot more than just the arch to enjoy. A must do hike if you ask me!!!

Closer to 14 miles and 5,000 feet of total elevation gain (according to Strava). Really enjoyed this hike though, I just didn't bring nearly enough food or water, and there is very limited sun cover on the more difficult parts of the route (Bear Peak's west ridge and South Boulder Peak). The descent down shadow canyon and subsequent death-march on the Mesa trail back to Chautauqua Park were very painful. It took me almost 8 hours exactly to complete the hike round-trip. Be prepared for this one. Wouldn't do it again but I'm glad I did it.

Overall this was a good workout, trail is well marked, and you get a pretty good view for being so close to the city. Some parts are a little difficult for a four legged friend; however, there is a lot of shade which was nice. There is also some water throughout to help keep the pups cool. From the parking lot with the ranger station if you follow chautauqua trail it’s a 4 mile hike total. I hiked this Tuesday morning and started before 8am, the later it got the more crowded it became

Super fun on the way up with some difficulty but the view is very much worth it! The way back down is super fast too

Perfect hike to get views quick. Stair-master-like trip up and quick trip down.

Bring a camera! Amazing views and even more amazing people in and around Boulder.

This hike was awesome but very hard, especially for this Floridian. Had to stop about 57 times along the way so I didn’t have a heart attack, but it was worth it once I made it to the top! I’d do this trail again.

Hiked this trail today and what an amazing experience! It was raining so not a lot of people on the trail. 80% of the trail is incline so be prepared for a lot of incline climbing. Even though it was raining the views were incredible and got to see two creeks along the way. Definitely a must if you are in Boulder. Oh and this trial is really about 4.4 miles and it takes about 3 hours.

What a great hike! My only advice would be to get there early. The trails get busy quickly! I would recommend starting your hike no later than 8:30.

Such a nice tour, not so easy as it is climbing in a difficult path.

Definitely challenging so worth the views!

Great, challenging hike. Trails are well marked and maintained. Get there early (before 8am) because the place gets crowded. Tons of uphill but the hike to the Arch is more than worth it.

Fun moderate hike but a little crowded at the arch. Not a lot of room for photos or to sit for a bit.

Super steep, but worth it. We brought along our four legged friend and it was a bit of a struggle when we were in some pretty rocky terrain. Jagged rocks were tough on paws.

Short, but steep (and sweet). It's worth going all the way to the end of the trail, almost to the top of the first flatiron, for views over Boulder and third flatiron as well as of mountains deeper in the range.

Great trail! Great views and challenging

Great hike! A lot of people but everyone is friendly! Make sure to get there early for a parking spot. If you park in the neighborhood, don’t be a jerk and block someone’s driveway.

We hiked 3/31. Brought our dog, who did great. Got there around 11am and lots of hikers were already on the trail. Was snowy and icy near the top, which made for a challenging descent. The vertical climb was challenging but views were rewarding. Lots of other dogs along the way.

Hiked 4/27. Beautiful and difficult hike. You’re basically on a stair stepper the whole way up! Got to trail around 10:30 and there were plenty of other hikers around but it was never cramped. The arch at the top is worth the climb!

Did this hike last weekend in early morning on saturday (830am) - not crowed at all that early and the weather felt wonderful. As you got closer to the top, there were 1-2 icy patches but nothing too difficult (I hiked in Salomon trail shoes and was fine.

Pretty difficult considering the snow, mud, slush, and ice. However, totally worth it when you get to the top! I will be returning when the trail is dry.
